Reminded me of when the Republicans brought on the mother of a victim from the benghazi attack. At least she didn't bash Trump and focused on solutions instead. Good and touching words, hope it leads to action. (It won't but it's nice to hope at least)

Also, her son was a huge Hillary supporter.

Also the the son was a pretty much astranged from the mother because she was unhinged and he even would post her crazy right wing conspiracy emails online she would send him. She clearly has some kind of mental condition the GOP is exploiting.

Yep, these is a vast difference between blaming your political opponent for murder and arguing policy

Damn, I can't imagine what she's been through. Glad at least she hasn't given up, and instead is trying to work on a solution so this doesn't happen to anyone else.

Oh, I was talking about Christine Leinonen, but yes. The Benghazi guy clearly thought his mom was cooky.

As a lowly Ph.D student working on climate change, the consensus among most climate scientists that I've talked to (including my adviser), hold this position.

The major political talking points going forward in the 2020s would be on the economy, jobs, and probably the effects of automation. Right or wrong, people are selfish, and asking people to focus on what will happen decades from now, while they are struggling today, is a lost cause.

Well, change is relative after all. There's the change that destroys some of the coastal towns, and there's the change that destroys all of them. And so on.

Already, I know the Carteret Islands are ground zero of evacuations as a result of global warming.

I suppose the point of this would be a question. To you, what is the best case scenario?

What kind of twisted people want guns in schools

Honestly, I think it's already too late to stop climate change. The point of no return was 20 or 30 years ago.

That's what most scientist say, isn't it. I guess we can make it so we can at least limp our way to surviving until we find a way to fix it.

The time to stop us feeling the effects as bad as we will was many decades ago. We will repair what we have done but not with the ideas the GOP has to offer

finally Democrats are standing up to the stupid NRA,

every four years, they always tried to not offend gun owners who cling to guns or religion

I am super happy that Hillary and the Dems are finally taking a stand today

Or just some people don't find it acceptable in any circumstance.
Well, where do you stand? Do you support unequivocal ban on fracking? If you do, that will make the demand of utility and gasoline go up, because fracking is cheaper than traditional drilling. By how much, I'm not sure but I dont want to find out. This is the difference. "Ban fracking" sounds good. But not when the price of gas goes up for everyone else affecting adversely the very class of people Bernie wants to protect.
