A lot of people initially liked Phantom Menace.
Correct. Does not detract from the fact that his opinion on a movie he literally just saw should be taken with a grain of salt, just like every other dude that liked Phantom Menace initially.

When did he defend it? I've only ever seen him take shots at it.
The UC is the Ultimate Cut version of BvS.
He likes it now.
He liked all three of the prequels. He liked Daredevil and Man of Steel. He loved Dark Knight Rises to the point of tears. He loved Tomorrow Land to the point of tears!
He's an easy guy to please, is my point. Nothing wrong with liking shit but he's not the most critical dude around.

Well, that's all well and good but honestly this seems like a game of "How can we discredit people who liked the movie so far?" So far people who didn't like it are met with "Uh oh!" and people who did like it are hit with "Did they like any other crap?"
Am I wrong here? I'd be more than happy to take the L on it.
Well I'm changing my RT prediction to 2%.
We should rename the thread to 2uicide 2quad now to save time.
In fact I'm cancelling my movie tickets now.
It seems that way. If you liked BvS (or any other movie that people think is a bad movie) your opinion on the movie has no value. But what if you liked BvS, X-Men Apocalypse and Civil War, Apocalypse Now is your favorite movie but also enjoy Adam Sandler's "movies"?
Then you might have a multiple personality disorder.
Are you telling me that I should seek professional help?
Didn't that IGN guy give BvS a 6/10? Cause holy crap...
how is "expected plot" a point of criticism?
Oh there was chemistry. Joker was solid, but again, its not his movie and rightfully so.
Also, reception has been what I expected. Fans enjoyed it, general audience who happened to score tickets to early previews enjoyed it as well for what it was. Its on the same level as Guardians of the Galaxy, complete with soundtrack. Enjoyable cast with some great acting at the right parts and its an all round good movie.
Go in with a level head and you'll be fine.
I can't hate on a guy who loves loving stuff, better that then the guy who hates everything.
Whenever someone tells me to 'go in with X mindset' I'm nearly always suspicious. What's the alternative to seeing a movie 'with a level head'? Sounds more like an excuse than anything.

Hah, I had the same reaction.
It's like going into a Gaming side thread and reading that a game "runs fine".
Immediate red flags!
Even the early reviews for BvS were positive. This movie having mixed reviews doesn't fill me with hope. I'm changing my RT prediction to 40%7 hours left for reviews to hit. Kibbles giving it a 8/10 doesn't fill me with hope tbh.
Yeah.
I hope I don't see any more "go see it and judge for yourselves" comments.
So, are we expecting "worst movie ever", "absolute trash" from critics and a 16% in that garbage site which has terrible, boring, forgettable movies such as Thor 1 or Avengers 2 with 70% and a movie with the exact same "problem" as BvS (Avengers 1) with 90%?
Yeah I'll keep ignoring that crap and feeling bad for people who give these "critics" enough credit to let them determine wether or not they should watch a movie. I'm glad I didn't give a shit because I liked Batman v Superman. Much better movie than overrated mediocrity like Guardians of the Galaxy, I tried very hard not to fall asleep through that. 91%, hahaha, fucking absurd. Putting the Marvel logo at the beginning gets you far these days.
The fact that Amazing Spider-Man 1 has a better score than the sequel alone should be enough to ignore the "tomatometer" altogether.
lol we got a badass over here fellas. Or should I say sheeple!

Is that what it has come to?

Those are always from pretty edgy people. But seriously, critics are fine and its their job to be critical. Expecting anything else is silly.Oh don't worry, we'll be seeing plenty of them. Along other such deep, mature gems as "Fuck the haters/critics" and "At least its not safe/fun!"
Yeah.
I hope I don't see any more "go see it and judge for yourselves" comments.
Everybody on earth has heard about the critical response to BvS.
I think early critics are just being more careful and not giving in to hype.
Precisely to avoid the BvS fiasco.
Yeah, I think people are just being extra reserved this time around. Already impressions, especially from Twitter, tend to always be really positive, sometimes hyperbolically so.
lol we got a badass over here fellas. Or should I say sheeple!
i'm not a big fan of these tomato ratings either a lot of the time but wut. Amazing Spiderman 2 was one of the shittiest comic movies i've ever seen. It really made the first look more decent in retrospect sadly.

Jaden Smith says it's the best film of Will's career; past, present, and future.
Well, it's better than After Earth.![]()

Well hell, if Jaden is on board...
I've seen student films better than After Earth.
