Neo will be 499 I guess. Still reckon they've bumped the RAM to 12GB.

42TFTF GPU, 10GHZ Zen CPU that'll melt steel beams, 132GB RAM. That's my wish. All ours for £3000

Double TFTF FTW!!!

I wanna bet that it will end up being 5+ TFLOPS
I reckon it will with a nice bump to the CPU speed as well. They won't want it to be too under powered compared to Scorpio. They have marketed the PS4 as the world's most powerful console so they won't give that up lightly.

In a lot of ways I hope that Sony isn't concerned with pricing in regards to what they are offering. Especially when the PS4 Slim exists that should be budget priced.

$499 nudges this from "my wife won't notice a different plastic box under the tv" to "a purchase large enough that we need to discuss it first" so I hope it's $399

I'll be shocked if they haven't changed the final specs since the first leak at GDC .

I'm not a 5 teraflop believer, but I'm pretty sure those leaked documents weren't exactly new when they leaked earlier this year. If the Neo case size increase rumor is even remotely true, there is a good argument to be made for them bumping the specs.

Checked the previous two pages and there's a lot of talk about a spec increase over the 4.2TF leaks... don't have the time to check more pages. What is the recap of the latest neo rumors?

There's non but originally the Neo was meant to be in a PS4 sized case but the latest rumour said the case is now 3cm bigger.

So people think it'll have a GPU spec bump. Which I believe it will.

If you can't see that is trolling I don't know what to tell you. Someone that has no intention to buy asking for lower specs then rumored...the charade is up.

On topic I'm in for whatever they announce, but I still believe it will be more powerful than expected and $449 or $499. I feel pretty good about that after being one of the few people that was absolutely convinced there would be a slim announced this year...months ago.

No I agree with you, I guess I just picked the wrong emoji.

Yeah my first thought when Xbox One S was announced that Sony would too. You reduce the cost of your console immediately when the node shrink becomes viable. Kind of threw me off when they didn't say anything at E3 though.

In hindsight the strategy all makes sense now. Neo and Slim will gang bang Xbone S from both sides at once.

Thanks for the reply. Sincerely hoping it gets released this year.

Wasnt the GPU the part that was furtherest out in front though compared to the other parts? CPU always seems to be the bottle neck these days.

Just sell it now. I got $290 for mine a couple of days ago. Trade-in is a rip-off.
$290 US? Who in their right minds even bought it for that (unless you bundled in a bunch of things). Congratz.

Anyways, that's what I'm doing right now. Initially I was thinking about keeping my regular ps4 as well, but I have changed my mind.

Trying to sell it for $300 CAD (new ones go for $430). console + controller + mono headset + hdmi cable + vertical stand + Destiny + original box.

Already got a bunch of replies even though I just posted the ad up a couple of hours ago, have a feeling most of these guys are gonna be no shows though.

But yeah, once I sell it, have a few games to go through on pc anyways, plus I just upgraded my xb1 to an s, and finally got ea access. Lots to play even if the Neo doesn't come out for a long time (though I don't expect it to be out later than November).

You would be happy with 3.68TF? For like $349 I guess?

well it would likely cost the same, but i think it would be more than acceptable. I think 4.2 TFLOPS is frankly overkill to hell in the current unit based on the specs we've got, especially compared to the other components. 3.68 is a great number with even decimals, and would still provide ultra settings on basically any game with great AA provided 1080p or 1440p was the target.

Pushing all that GPU power towards resolution seems unnecessary IMO when native 1080p res and good AA is the real priority they should be aiming for, much higher quality SMAA approximations for all games ala Infamous SS for example.

Thanks. I didn't bundle anything extra and yes in the U.S.

Today my friend in Canada sold his PS4 for $335 with a 2TB hard drive as a bonus. I had 2TB drive in mine as well but I put a 500GB back in before I sold it. Didn't think I would get enough extra cash for that. I'll put it in my Neo unless they allow us to go higher(would be nice).

They won't be pushing it towards 1080p when we all get 1080p already... wow.

They will focus on higher quality lighting, AA textures etc.

We don't always get native 1080p, and when we do get 1080p, a lot of the time its paired with crap AA.

That has got to change in addition to higher graphical presets. I just don't think that pushing GPU power is the most important priority for these iterative units, considering the kinds of GPU power we're talking about right now, even the downgraded specs i'd want, are far more powerful than the high end single GPU's AMD had when PS4 was coming out when it was low to mid range, especially taking into account architecture improvements and bandwidth efficiency.

There comes a point where its just going to be diminishing returns and funneled into higher resolutions, and that's frankly boring IMO.

Inuhanyou pls

:P

Pushing GPU power will enable them to make that a priority while also pushing better AA, lighting and texture map quality. Why you'd want a downgraded GPU is honestly baffling.

Unless your telling me that all you want is 1080p native in the handful of games that arent? In that case I call bullshit. Everyone wants better graphics in all forms.

He doesn't want a Neo to exist at all. I'm not sure how any one can take someone advocating a spec decrease seriously.

Sure i'd take it, along with good AA. That's the main offense of this gen visually IMO.

Of course i don't think the reveal will feature anything less than the specs detailed in the leak, or much more for that matter, but that's just what i'd personally want.

It's not just a vibe. He has admitted it on numerous occasions.

If your going to call someone a troll, atleast address them directly. I'm serious when i say that NEO could be marginally downgraded and still be priced at 399, and that would better control temperatures and heat.

I don't want Sony to blow this thing's thermal budget on what is essentially a glorified refresh of components. It should be as, or more power efficient than OG PS4 was when it launched, and that means no sounding like a plane taking off.

Isn't $499 way too expensive? I mean, MS got laughed at pretty hard 3 years ago when they announced the price for Xbox One, even though Kinect was included.

I think its a fairly safe bet that NEO is 399. Any more and regardless of it being a premium unit, the price to cost ratio might not fly with consumers.

There is no way Sony will ever go above $399 for any Playstation hardware ever again.

It's the perfect price - hence PS4.

Looking at the successful consoles through history shows that $250-$400 is the range you want to be in.

However Sony already has an affordable console on the market so you can make the argument that they might be able to get away with 499.

But if you look at the rumored specs it looks like a 399 machine. My guess is that sony will give us the best 399 console that they can make every 3 years.
