I'd love it if they announce Neo, then show off a slate of awesome looking games, then House tells us they were all running, real time, on PlayStation 4... and will look even better on Neo!
I mean Uncharted 4 looks ridiculous as it is (so much so how many people on here thought it was running on Neo, lol).

I'd love that as well, but I doubt it will or even can happen.
Also tearing is not really an issue as long as you have v-sync turned on which unfortunately does affect the framerate :/ It's a shame that on PS4 you have to choose and imho having v-sync turned off is a pain.

Eh, it already happens. People on PC can have a locked 60 and play against PS4 owners.
I haven't played in a while. But have they fixed some of the framerate hiccups that can happen in certain instances on some stages? Background details (on some stages) and the framerate for background characters can improve as well. And yeah, shadows.

I guess, but then Sony would have to make an exception for this particular game. Also remember that you can choose to only play against players on the same platform. I doubt Sony would want to offer something similar for Neo/non-Neo players.

SFV needs help with:
1. horrible dithered shadows
2. missing motion blur
3. Can we get 60 fps backgrounds now?

Pretty much shadows and other, even more minor improvements like that.
I guess it could tackle loading as well but that would be limited in situations where you are facing a OG PS4 owner... so not much use.

I think it looks great and if it runs cooler/quieter with more modern parts and EVEN EASIER way to switch out the hdd...whats to hate?
Personally I'm more excited about the Neo "Elite" Controller that is rumored...the specs are whatever they will be since PS4 is already pretty damn gorgeous + I have my gaming PC battlestation for the truly pretty graphics.
But new controller that is premium & to the same build standard as XBOX Elite? Thats what i'm here for.

It's a third party knockoff for PS4. Not an official product.

I think as long as the target is the same (likely being 60fps for Base and Neo) it shouldn't be an issue imo.

Yeah the parts where there were lots of alpha effects which caused it to drop a frame or 2 is fixed it doesn't drop anymore since updates not long after release was important for the competitive scene stable 60fps throughout now.
Why would you want motion blur in a fighter that would make it look worse like motion blur does to Tekken even though that's a 3D fighter.
Shadow can get an improvement yeah, the higher fps background means they'd have to do it on og ps4 and pc aswell which would require them alot of work which I don't see them doing.

1. Chinese guy has SEEN the Neo. The shell at least. That means Neo is close. Why would Sony start building Neo now for release in 2017?

2. Kinda crazy Sony hasn't advertised this meeting at all to the general public. It's already Tuesday, and barely a whisper. I don't get it.
Maybe this meeting is not as big of a deal as we are all making it out to be?

Motion blur looks great in the PC version... have you played it on PC?
If nothing else they can at least make it optional.

What if the Neo is bigger and heavier because it has a 3D printer that prints platinum trophies when you achieve them? Too much for a mid-gen refresh?
Proper object motion blur is one of the most immediately transformative effects for game visuals.
I assume something like SFV, where reading animation in a competitive scene, is highly valued it would be an option.
Maybe Sony's taking this "instant gratification" thing a bit too far. LOL.
They may just go advertise this full blast tomorrow, get it trending (ps4k and slim was trending about a week ago with about a million people talking about it), and having the event the next day could have these people actively looking out for updates the next day as well when the event actually takes place.

The PC version has a motion blur option and some people prefer the look it gives the game.

I'll be honest i heard that there were problems but i havent had them affect me in a while and thats if im remembering drops in sfv in my matches at all.
Fair enough.
I suppose anything between 4.2 and 5 Tflops is a possibility.
Either way, it's a decent bump over vanilla PS4.
I remember there being something about framedrops while connected online, even when not actually playing an online match (I experienced this), which I assume would've been fixed by now. The only times I have played up the game over the last few months was in offline mode playing local versus.

i can def see pre-orders opening for release next month... that's a very Apple thing to do.
But he also said that devs wouldn't get 100% access to the power of the new console & that it would be primarily for system , media & VR.
That sound like microcode controlled vector units to me

Well technically he's saying not to expect a huge spec boost, not that there won't be any spec boost at all. I don't expect anything, but slight upclocks to the cpu & gpu are possible still.
