They'll make it compatible via firmware update in a few months ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
Hey man. Shelf space can be quite a commodity for some.
That was frustrating cuz i still dont know what to do. I am in the market for a new ps4 as I just moved out. I have a 1080p tv with no plans to get 4k any time soon.
What do I lose by saving $100 and going with the slim?
They wouldn't even definitively say frame rate will be better on Pro.
Confirmed by Richard Lawler of Engadget, guys:

What a fucking disappointment. Off to get my Xbox One S right now.
Interview on stream. Jan-Bart Van Beek says it's about as twice as powerful as the stock PS4, if not a tiny bit more powerful.
Naughty Dog excited for HDR.
As I get further into the thread, these post not only get worse but make less sense.
Anyone else experiencing this?
I'll start it....
"Sony just shot themselves in the foot..."
The biggest problem with this presentation is that we're leaving with more questions than answers.
- Are games being rendered at 4K or simply upscaled?
- What are the console specs beside 1Tb HDD?
- If I have a 1080p display, the enhancements will be automatic or they need to be patched?
- What kind of enhancements 1080p TVs can get? Supersampling? Better graphics? More fps?
- Dos it have a fucking 4K BD player??
4k movies are 100 GB +
You honestly don't see why some people still buy physical copies?
I can see Edge running an Xbox strikes back cover akin to their 2007 PS3 strikes back cover. Their hardware is much more appealing and I say that as someone who has never really cared for Xbox hardware, even the 360 controller.
bookmarked for when 4k still doesn't matter, budget PS4 & PS4 Pro continue to outsell everyone else to everyone's 'shock' despite their 'shortcomings'.

etc.
I hope they allow developers to improve the framerates; kind of seems like they're dodging the question which is kind of worrying.

Oh man... I can easily see Microsoft besting Sony this holiday season in sales. (EDIT: In US)

I have the same question. Recently bought a FULL HD TV.
Well...The thing is made with gamers in mind. The standard PS4 is for the general public while the Pro is for the "hardcore gamer (tm)" I guess. The design of this thing screams G4MER it's so ugly
Hopefully after more pictures it'll grow on me.

Sure it's been asked a million times in past hour:
Is Pro only truly benefets from a 4k/hdr TV?
Nothing for 1080p tvs except a small resolution boost?
Can 4.2 TF even run native 4K?

I don't understand the 4k Blu-Ray omission.
Does it keep the price down by a significant amount?
Can 4.2 TF even run native 4K?
Search your feelings and you'll know the answer. Will my OG PS4 backup with P.T. installed successfully import into the Pro?

Would love to know
1. If this is going up for pre-order any time soon so I can know whether to stop waiting around or not
2. The HD size on this thing
The silence is deafening
