As pessimistic as I have already gotten... I don't believe they would actually dare to release something like this on PS4 or Xbox One. This looks absolutely horrible! There are often hyperboles thrown around but the landscape here looks actually worse than even any PS3 or Xbox360 game that I can remember.

Well, I mean it's a fantasy-styled world. The vast, vast majority of women aren't built like Final Fantasy characters. I think most people recognize that.

A lot of the male characters have an idealized shape too, perhaps not the same extent, but it is there.

The tree textures hadn't popped up in this scene I think this was a bug. I just rewatched it (because I couldn't believe how shitty that screenshot was). When the car gets closer other trees have the correct textures pop in.

Yea that's a weird thought. Jessica Jones whole character is revolved around abuse but I wouldn't consider her a "weak" character. It entirely depends how Luna's arc will be in the game. The marketing doesn't help I guess. KG also did a bad job, so it's understandable. But I'm gonna wait till the actual game cause everyone in KG got the short end of the stick in terms of character development.

For real, though. If people are really coming at this with the argument being an abuse victim makes you not strong by default, then they can fuck right the fuck off. Besides, it looks like Ardyn shows up after she's been exhausted by her confrontation with Leviathan, and then hits her while she's down.

Considering these sorts of responses happened in the thread about that trailer from last year that implied that Luna had an abusive childhood too, I don't think everyone is making those sorts of comments or insinuations in jest. Love for an old character design makes people make some... interesting assertions.

Strong woman doesnt mean infallible, Luna isn't some Mary Sue who is some how resistant to being hurt. Just like Noctis isn't a perfect person, he has some very visible flaws in his personality. It makes for a more interesting character than some cardboard cutout 'strong woman'.

Luna is a cardboard cutout of a 'perfect waifu'. That's not more interesting, that's just a character crafted to service the hero's motivations and development.
