Forza Horizon 3: Review Thread

it doesnt even offer opinions, let alone bad ones.

tell me the controls suck, the world is lame, something.

not just "DIRT RALLY MAN, WOW"

His opinions seem to be that the game lacks focus, it kind of just lets you do whatever. That it has no challenge and that it hands our rewards like Halloween candy. Not that I particularly agree with any of that or personally find those things as minuses. However, that seems to be his opinion and he certainly has a right to it.

That's bullshit that one garbage review can drop the overall score so badly.

That being said, playground games has created a classic is less than 2 years. What an incredible studio.

What is better is that, they released 3 games in 4 years, all of them are among the best games of that year, and they keep smashing their previous game with strides.

i just want to know if the whole map is mostly trees because the Demo was a huge disappointment to me

i hope there is a big city and lots of areas that aren't a forest like in the demo

if Forza Horizon 3 doesn't reach 90+ score then i doubt any Microsoft game in 2016\2017 can reach it

I don't get what's with the troll reviews from some sites. "It seems like Playground is bored of racing games" or whatever is like saying "It seems like Naughty Dog is bored of Uncharted". 4/10? Absolutely not. Even No Man's Sky didn't get below 5/10 from any reviewers and that game is awful.

Online functionality was certainly available - my and my partner spent lots of time dabbling in it. Don't know where you've got that idea from.

I expressed myself bad I guess, some are waiting servers to go public to give a score it seems

From Videogamer review

Note: Due to a lack of available players online, Forza Horizon 3's online functionality is still to be tested thoroughly. We'll check this out and update the review in the near future. If you really must be told a score right now, imagine a number that looks a bit like a snail doing a headstand.

Version Tested: Xbox One

Or they dont have any friends

Of course

Brother its insanely loaded with them.
I cover it with my review. Its just a complete package man.

I notice a stark (and isolated) report of things like "myriad technical problems" (from We Got This Covered). I'm interested to look into that more.
Ya interesting. I experienced the issues I talk about in my review concerning groove audio and a couple other small bits. But most wouldn't even be considered problems.

There are a
desert
, a
coastline
, a
city
and a
rain forest
. You can see them on the map even in the demo.

There's always an outlier. 2/5 he he.

Great scores overall. Based on the demo it seems awesome. Smart of them to give away the original on 360 to prep us.

I am pissed at the over-inflated price on PC but this makes it even harder not to give in...already loved FH2 but sold the Xbox One now...

Ztgd:10 out of 10 http://www.ztgd.com/forza-horizon-3/

Forza Horizon 3 is one of the best racing games I have ever played, and somehow continues to prove that this series just keeps getting better. How Playground Games continues to make what already feels like the definitive arcade racing experience even better is beyond my comprehension. If you have any interest in racing games at all, this is a can’t miss title. Now if you will excuse me, I have some bucket list challenges to create.

Turn10 are going to have to step up their game. Horizon is quickly becoming the best game of the franchise. Here's to an amazing FM7 too!

Congratulations Playground <3

Since we got our review copy late this is a review in progress and will be later updated with impressions on late game, PC port and final score.

It is in Chinese, by the way.

But our tentative score is 9/10

Pros:

-Gorgeous Australian visuals
-An Xbox One technical marvel
-Sensational racing
-Packed with content
-Attention to Detail
-Great Chinese localization

Cons:

-None, I can't find any yet!

Just curious. If a game has absolutely no Cons. Nothing negative about it whatsoever, how can it not be a 10. Genuinely curious. A game with no negatives by definition has no flaws, therefore is flawless.

Nonetheless, it looks like an amazing game and I think I'm sold.

Certainly is his opinion, but he is judging the game on things that aren't there by design, the fact that it has little 'focus' or let's you do whatever is a big part of the game.

The fact that he basically highlights that it isn't Dirt Rally is a big alarm bell, simply because the two games, despite both being racing games, are very, very different, one is a tight simulation with strict progression, the other is an open world, do what you want game with freeform progression.

The ib times review is interesting. While I think they are being incredibly hyperbolic, there seems to be a similar criticism for horizon 3 as I had for horizon 2.

It felt more like like a Gumball3000 simulator than a racing game.

I'm sure for 95% of people this will not be a problem, but as I've said before in forza threads, there is a distinct lack of satisfaction when you win a race. It's almost as if the racing is just part of the story, and the objective is actually to enjoy the festival.

I'm still going to get horizon 3 and accept it for what it is, but I'm glad I'm not the only person to notice this.
