Overwatch Sombra ARG - No one is ready for Sombra [Up2: New Model Leaks]

I don't know if the Hanzo picture is real, I saw it on the Sombra hash tag that's trending. I don't know where the letters and numbers are from so I can't compare. I don't know if Blizzard would put profanity in Overwatch.

Hey would Hanzo be her counter? Clues!

Well......he does have that arrow that shows where enemies are at. Sombra stealth confirmed? >.>

At this point I dont think sombra is even an hero but something else...I mean 4 months teasing a hero? When they reveleade Ana without any tease?

Im surprised we still haven't at least got a video or something. If they really just meant for the countdown to end with what it did, then that is a sad thing to see.

What the hell was up with that leaked design a couple weeks back? Is that supposedly real?

Considering parts of text that were readable described Brawl for Halloween event and when event went live Brawl matched description in leak 1:1. Leak happened before event went live giving quite a bit legitimacy to it. This very, very likely is Sombra;

Conspiracy time: What if the leaked "Sombra" isn't Sombra at all, but another hero design that Blizz are working on, and it was they who leaked it? Leaks go in line with hacks after all, which is what the ARG was going for.

But maybe I'm giving too much credit to the same company that thought it was fine to end a 2 months countdown with a vague and useless phrase.

Well no without a doubt that was a real picture because it linked directly to it.

But either way this is one of the worst ARG's I've ever seen. It was pointless and a lot of shit was timegated.

Didn't that text also mention a special Halloween currency for items?

I doubt they'd have multiple tech-y, minority characters so far through production.

Well this is just sad. Work day is over and I see it ended up being jack shit. 2 month countdown to nothing.

Looks like Sombra is hacking Blizzcon during someone's speech.

And audience most likely won't care and just roll their eyes. After all that will just lead to yet another "cool" countdown event.

I fully believe that during the panel on Overwatch talking about the game and how "all you guys are so great and we love you", the skull will flicker/glitch onto the screen/projection behind them and start some little countdown thing and then play a trailer of Sombra and then whoever is up there will be all "That's right! Sombra will be hacking her way into Overwatch right now! *jump and fireworks* And everyone here gets an exclusive Blizzcon skin for her!"

This would have been a great idea if they didnt do a stupid countdown for like 2 months, and randomly hinted closer to blizzcon and it randomly happen, then I could see people being excited. This is just idiotic and whoever thought of this idea is an asshat

Liao will be announced at Blizzcon and Sombra won't even be acknowledged.

Turns out Sombra is now in a wheelchair FOR LIFE.... and live through the camera of Bastion. She put that leaked picture up to make people think she's all good and well, but deep down depression is eating her alive. She also put on a few pounds and won't fit in with the cast. She will transition into the Oracle of Overwatch.

Half Life 3 will come out before the Sombra Carnival of Stupid ends.

Also if I see "-Removed Sombra" in the patchnotes ever like "-Removed Herobrine" keeps cropping up in Minecraft patchnotes I will go berserk.

ARGs can go die. Whoever is responsible for this shit at Blizzard should be devoted to janitor, Konami-style. Is there anyone, anyone out there still actively engaged and enjoying this shit? Just announce the fucking character.

It's amazing how inept they are.

They had a plain HTML counter, completely uninteresting in every way - that didn't even work for the first week or so.

Then it started to increment so slowly that people were theorizing that something would happen at 23% or 47% or whatever because there is no way they would draw this step out for months.

THEN after months it finally hit 100% and nothing fucking happened.

I gave some time for a patch, and nothing. There was a time when I thought Blizzard could do no wrong. Everything about the games and marketing had so much polish. This is such a huge misstep for them, it's actually hard to believe that they would be this tone deaf and miscalculate so badly. It's kind of bizarre that they haven't released a single statement about this.

I hope the ARG turns out to be a ruse and Sombra turns out to be something completely different than people are expecting. Make her come from Planet Funk for all I care.

Although skipping her and just releasing another character would be fun too.

The more I think about that... fucking bullshit. I mean it has really been long enough, right?

It's feeling like this whole ARG was suppose to finish up quicker than intended; maybe they had to decide that Sombra needed more time in development, but couldn't just cancel the ARG like that either.

Even then: the small teams at Blizzard are capable of blasting out CGi shorts really quickly. But apparently, it's unreasonable for the staff to drop trinkets of information at percent increments, as fans assumed was going to happen.

Except that line about Bastion, what did we learn when the countdown was done? I haven't been following this super closely after realizing we weren't betting Sombra.

Source code points to a specific build of the game (v1.4.0.2.324??). Right now the game is at v1.4.0.2.32374. So basically... next week's update will likely round it up to .324 and that might have something.

That said I've given up on expecting her anytime before BlizzCon. I was hoping they could reveal a brand new hero there instead but that ain't looking likely (unless they end up releasing two heroes instead which might be a decent idea to deter solo characters populating every game). Blizzard screwed the pooch with this and I don't know what the fuck they were smoking with this ridiculous build up.

afaik devs said they are releasing one hero by end of the year and another is in pipeline for early 2017 release.

Welp, Overwatch PC just updated to v1.4.0.2.32448. At the "Amomentincrime" page, the hidden version number has updated...to v1.4.0.2.32448.

So the timer finished an we are still waiting? Come on Blizz!!!
If I log onto GAF tmrw and don't see any news.... then...
I'll just wait even longer....
