I am kinda dreading the fact that there might bes a tiny HDD in the tablet - and the bigger HDD is housed in the dock. I cannot see the tablet going over 128GB (with maybe 500GB in the dock)

If so, you will basically have to do some management as to what game(s) you want to have access to on the go if you go fully digital.

(Would have loved to see a Super Mario Maker 2/Special Edition but one can't have everything.)

The name Switch..ehh...a bit generic but I'll get used to it. At least both the name and branding are totally different unlike the Nintendo Bait 'n Switch they released last time. I do slightly fear that people will confuse this with the Wii U's tablet this time though...

- What does the dock do to enhance games, if anything?
- What's the battery life like?
- What's the resolution of the screen?
- What are the specs?
- Is there a proper account system?

Yeah, yeah, they can only show so much in a three minute video but they could have done something. Like an account system. The video could have started with the guy unboxing his Switch, signing in to his account, and having access to his library. Simple.

As it stands, there are still way too many unknowns for me.

You've never been to a gaming, sci-fi, or anime convention? I can definitely see 8 strangers playing Splatoon in the hallways. Plus, onlookers will stop and watch them play, and perhaps become interested in the console and/or the game.

I think this 'gimmick', just like 3DS Street-pass, is designed to get the platform out into the public, where it can essentially sell itself.

It's also too big to carry for most, but at least it doesn't look like a FisherPrice toy.

Looking like a Fisher Price toy was the best thing about the Gamecube. Better than that 80's VCR look of the X-box, LOL.

What a stupid name.... but I will definitely be buying this.

As someone who has used the recent Nintendo handhelds more than their recent consoles (Pokemon.. nuff' said) this appeals to me in that it looks like it will be quite a powerful handheld. As far as a home console it doesn't really appeal to me but at least now I only have to buy one system to play both Pokemon and Zelda. And the ability to play Wii U games like Mario Kart 8 for example on a handheld while traveling will be very nice.

So in my case this is a smart move from Nintendo that appeals to me. I imagine the group of people that won't be happy are Nintendo fans who wanted something that would compete with or exceed MS/Sony home consoles in terms of power and 3rd party.

Consider me underwhelmed. The design is great. It's portable but that looks like a pretty big device to be portable. Just another thing I have to carry. Those detachable controllers/sticks whatever are super small. Pro controller is essentially an Xbox controller.


The main issue I have is that the power on this will likely be less than X1/PS4. The main feature of this console is something that both of those consoles do already, which is portable gaming. W10/Vita/PC allows me to play all my X1 and PS4 games from anywhere. So Nintendo has left me in a position (again) of deciding whether I like Mario enough to pay for under-powered and uninnovative hardware.

Name is fine, will definitely catch on. Infinitely better than Wii. Looking forward to having Nintendo games on TV and on the go, that has definitely been an issue with Wii U/3DS.

Also I don't understand size complaints, I don't know anybody who didn't carry the 3DS in their bag, and we're in an age of 10-inch plus tablets.

Portable split screen has no interest to me but it's an interesting use of the split controller. Most people will just use two controllers for home multiplayer I'd imagine and I doubt most games will support it due to lack of buttons.

For me personally hardware could be pink and look like a piece of shit, so yeah a piece of pink dog shit, but if it has 3d mario, mario kart and zelda I'm buying it.

Of those games, I only care about Zelda. I just need to see more third party stuff before I can get excited. Skyrim does nothing for me.
