If it is touch screen and the cartridges are the same size I wonder if 3ds games would work in a horizontal mode.

I love it though. Just hard to gauge the power of it. Did zelda or mario kart look any better to people?

Im intrigued. Simply because the games. The hardware its essentially just a tablet.

Hmm if its also function as a "real" tablet with android on it I'll preorder it right here right now. I even willing to pay high price for it (depends on the quality)

PLEASE NINTENDO!

Well I'm a lot more positive on this than I was on the Wii U. Look like it'll have decent third party support, the controller is normal for the most part (I will definitely be getting a pro though), and it also doubles as a portable from Nitendo that is actually at a decent resolution; all I need to know now is the price.

I like the dock and the actual tablet itself. But the tiny ass Joy-Con and Joy-Con Grip accessories...yikes...horrible.

Price will be key. It needs to be ~250 for me.

Looks good, seems like it will be BC with the Wii U or at least wii u digital titles?, good preview trailer...

Ok I'm interested Nintendo. Let's see what you got up to launch :)

INTO MY VEINS

Seriously this is awesome. And for the first time since the GameCube I'm loving the name of the console.

What a fantastic trailer and it really does a whole lot to clear up confusion about what the system is and how it works, which, given the more modular nature compared to other systems, would certainly help. I really like it though, and hopefully it'll mean unifying developers on 1 platform rather than splitting them between (as is the case now) the 3DS and the Wii U. And also the list of launch partners is awesome, for sure - definitely wasn't expecting that. Still wonder about the battery life, and the price, but I'm really hoping it'll do really really well.

And the portability angle too - playing this without a TV sounds like it won't be difficult at all which is fantastic! Yeah, really hyped for this, and can't wait for March.

This actually looks great!

Maybe the first Nintendo console I own.

Is it BC with Wii/WiiU stuff somehow? Digital? That wa smy take from Splatoon, unless there is a new version of that coming to Switch.

It's almost certainly a new version, if only because in Splatoon's current iteration, you need the Gamepad in order to fully navigate the UI.

As soon as I get confirmation that a digital version of smash bros can be played on this I'm preordering this shit.

I'm not even playing.

Please get real 3rd party support this time. This shit would be perfect for playing at home and taking to play on break.

Absolutely nailed it.

I like what I see. Let's see some more of the games. I'm usually always in for a new Nintendo console even if I end up buying like 5 games for it. This looks like what the Wii U should've been.

Fucking fantastic. This thing is made for me. Portability for business trips, being able to slot your system in for tournaments to keep your settings (great for the tourney scene), a pro controller and a propped up mini screen for playing at a picnic or something.

All of this is really cool.

Now it just needs the library. This needs lots of great multiplayer and single player titles.

Ahh, is that what happened there?

Cool stuff.

They nailed this in my head. Showing Breath of the Wild on your big TV or on the road? Skyrim? Sports? Showing the multiplayer aspect on the road with multiple controller and multiple Switches? Brillant. This system works for kids and adults!

There is so much that can be done with this system. Wonderful!

Here is what I need answered.

1) Region Free? If so, HELL YEAH.
2) Can a small hard drive be hooked up to the base? Switch downloaded games freely from HDD to the screen?
3) Wired connection possible at the base?
4) Give it to me now.

I don't think every multiplayer game will work with those detachable controllers. Like fighting games, no way. Pokken, maybe, but not games like Street Fighter.

Well Nintendo clearly learned their lesson from the Wii U reveal, they make it abundantly clear what this thing is and that has nothing to do with the Wii brand.

My big question right now what the battery life on that tablet is.

Not gonna lie - I think this thing loos super hot.

It´s EXACTLY what it needed to be.

Surprising, because I fully expected Nintendo to fuck this up.

The logical evolution of Nintendo when they don't plan to follow the mega console or smart phone path. Get 'N

The Nintendo in me is smiling. :)

I'm upset. Because of the focus on multiplayer, they neutered the d-pad into buttons. That kinda ruins the whole point of having a console/portable hybrid. All the platformers and fighting games I enjoyed on PSP, Vita, etc. are going to feel like garbage. I was really looking forward to having a unified VC collection that controlled well, too.

Seeing those joycons like sideways wiimotes again is absolutely horrifying. Anyone defending that needs to stop.

Imagining MH5 on this thing is going to power my dreams for the next couple years while I wait for it to happen.

Noooooooooooooooooooooooo! Was'nt going to buy this untill you made me remember monster hunter only comes out on Nintendo systems. Fuck me :(. At least I can play on a big screen now...

So no 2nd analog on the pieces of controller, or is there some sort of IR reader that can sense the other one? Are the games going to offer some new control scheme for one-stick play?

Hmm, I guess I'm glad I didn't spring for a 3DS recently. Sounds like the Switch is the best of both, which I'm cool with.

It seemed to me it was a motion controller too. Basically a smaller wiimote with a stick.

Not sure how realistic this is, but if they can find a way to come in at $250 I think this will do very well.
