What's the reason? You get sample ballots and it's legal in quite a few states? Stupid as shit that it's illegal anywhere.
I think the intent of laws like that is to prevent voter intimidation. The laws are about prohibiting photography inside the polling place in general, not just about photographing your ballot.

yeah it was on his twitter for a few hours but he deleted it now

dude is stupid as fuck :') no wonder with a dad like that

I just can't comprehend the stupidity, or arrogance, here. Jesus, i study for everything and learn the relevant rules/laws. This combined with the Trump camp suing Clark County just showcases the absolute amateur hour that was the Trump campaign. it's be hilarious if he hadn't stirred up so much hate and straight up BS.

I know Hillary's not perfect, no-one is, but the race being as close as it has been is a perfect example of the 20+ years of shit swathes of the media have thrown at her.

Edit: I really hope we get an in-depth documentary of the Trump campaign in the near future, it'll be gold!

The both sides argument doesn't work when one candidate is a racist, misogynistic, hateful, piece of shit.

If you vote for Trump just because he's republican you agree with his ideals passively cause you're giving him that chance to take office. You are responsible to a degree and can't just wash your hands of the whole thing cause you're one of the "good" republicans.

Both sides is peddled by people who want to feel morally superior. Nothing more, nothing less. Just chalk it up as "yeah okay bruh"

The Onion's coverage is pretty great so far, especially the most recent one.

Report: A Few Lucky Voters Got To Die Yesterday

We continue to receive reports from around the country confirming that several lucky voters were fortunate enough to die yesterday. In addition to avoiding casting a ballot in today’s election, the enviably deceased individuals also never have to hear or think about either of the candidates ever again, having hit it big by entering an eternity of blackness. The Onion offers them our congratulations.

I have a lot to learn and I'm frankly absolutely confused and filled with self doubt in my life right now to the point of being in deep depression about it. I'm simply watching and trying to learn from it. I think it's okay to not know where you are as an individual and just watch. I don't know what to think of it all. It's a confusing mess and it troubles me.

It doesn't help that I have a lot less "liberal" views than almost everyone here, so it's hard to express myself and have a calm discussion. I have never let myself be exposed to so much liberal conversation before and I'm having a hard time processing it all, especially because I grew up in an ultra conservative demographic. My own poor education on politics/government hasn't helped either.
It's 2016, educate yourself. I mean when you think about, literally not a single positive thing has been said about Trump this entire election. So honestly there's nothing to be confused about only if you willfully ignore the orgy of information available to you, you're on the internet. It's a shame about your background and your depression, but complaining about "both sides" and that people are mean to racists/sexist/xenophobes is not the way to self improvement.

Both sides is peddled by people who want to feel morally superior. Nothing more, nothing less. Just chalk it up as "yeah okay bruh"
There's literally no moral superiority about Racism, xenophobia and misogyny. You can't be morally superior, as actively or passively supporting those things and trying to help a candidate throw away decades of progress whilst likely bankrupting the US makes you a terrible person. There's no "both sides" about this situation.

What's the reason? You get sample ballots and it's legal in quite a few states? Stupid as shit that it's illegal anywhere.

The idea is actually quite simple. Say I issue this ultimatum: vote for who I tell you to or face a permanent ban from this site (just as a quick example). To prove that you have complied, you might provide a photo of your ballot at the polling place. If such a practice is illegal, I cannot make this threat. A much better example than a schmuck volunteer moderator of a gaming site making such a threat would be someone with money attempting to buy votes or an employer threatening termination if an employee doesn't comply with the company's preferred candidate.

Mind you, I get that it's kind of pointless. In a world of PhotoShop and sample ballots it'd be pretty easy to fake so why would someone even try to demand a photo as proof? But I understand the idea of discouraging the practice altogether.

Just voted. No line as expected. One of the poll workers asked if this was my first time voting. I'm 28. Not the first time this has happened to me, though not at the polls.

It's fucking ridiculous and I hope they catch a fist, but fuck it. That'll definitely make them vote against that toad and remind them why. Seriously..fuck those animals..

No it isn't ridiculous that you hope they catch a fist. Those are assholes who deserve to eat pavement, especially if they're harassing women and children.

Hope you CO peeps voted for Jeff Bridges for House District 3! Old buddy of mine, and really passionate for progressive issues.

Voted for him.

My wife and I were talking about one of the negative ads against him that graced our inbox. It had him saying, "that pig is drenched in lipstick."

Even if he did say that, that's a common saying.

ThinkProgress is really popping today.

Durham County Board of Elections asks North Carolina’s state board to extend voting hours

James O’Keefe harasses PA voters, brags about it on video
Incredulous judge tears apart Trump attorney challenging early votes
At a hearing concerning this lawsuit, Judge Gloria Sturman appeared incredulous at many of the arguments raised by Trump’s attorney. At one point she told the lawyer that he has “no cause of action.” At another, after the hearing had proceeded for quite a while, she dismissively told the lawyer “you still somehow think you’re entitled to an order in your favor. Why?”

During arguments over whether elections officials should turn over personal information regarding poll workers who worked at the contesting polling places, Judge Sturman said that “it’s disturbing to me” that poling workers could be harassed because of this lawsuit, if their information is revealed to trolls on Twitter.

It appears unlikely, to say the least, that Trump will prevail.

Girlfriends cousin just posted from Colorado

“There are middle aged white men stationed at intersections in Cherry Creek waving Trump flags chanting 'Grab em by the pussy' and calling women and children horrible names as they walk by. I wish I was joking. Let's answer this hatred with votes!!! “

So gross
Of all the quotes to rally behind, why did they choose that one...?

I work less then 20 minutes away, I'm tempted to drive over there but I'm swamped at the moment, and also afraid I'd catch an assault charge. If this is the case there's got to be people taking video, hopefully we get some confirmation soon.

This was one of the times I'm glad I live in the middle of fuck-all nowhere. No weirdos with sign or guns outside the polling place, no long lines, entire voting process took 5 minutes. Got Zaxby's afterwards and it tasted like freedom.
