Rebuild our military...? For what?

As an IT professional working in Government, I also agree.

Imagine the shit storm if it was any regular person, for sure jail time.

Well, there was a shit storm (still blowing, actually).

As for jail time, I'm not qualified to say. People yelling about "different rules" think they're pointing out a contradiction, but it's literally true: how many people in government would even have the ability to say "I want my own server"? It's true that there are different rules, like it or not. People many ranks above me often casually broke rules about classified intel that I would have been disciplined (not fired, I was military) had I broken - even simple things like taking marked documents into the hallway.

The FBI said no, twice, and clearly they are not in her corner.

I still just can't even imagine the scenario where she didn't, at the very least, get told by multiple people up the chain of command that "No, you can't fucking have a private server". But I worked in a controlled environment. Maybe the elected/appointed side of the government is just sloppier than the permanent institutional side.

According to Slate's Votecastr, Hillary already has more votes in Florida than Obama got in 2012. Not sure how accurate that is, but I'd have to think that almost guarantees a win for that state (and by extension, the election).

Jokes aside, it's also not an entirely unfair comparison because it heralds the rise of the extreme right wing in US (and British) politics, which has been on the fringe for a really long time but staying there relatively well contained - and, okay, I get that Clinton will win, but Trump should never have got this far in the first place - the fact that he has is a frightening thing all by itself and indicates a pretty big division in US society. This has to be dealt with somehow, it's not going to go away if (when) Clinton becomes President. There are similarities. The same fears/hatreds/bigotries that have drawn people to Trump are the ones that drew Brits to Farage and leaving the EU. It's isolationism, building a wall. And both your election and our Referendum are showing that there are far too many of those people to just ignore.

Well the U.S. is getting more and more diverse so this bigoted and scary people should become more of a minor problem, still I don't think they shouldn't be ignored.

This drives me fucking insane. In what way does the most funded, biggest and most powerful military need to be "rebuilt"? Jesus Christ.

The GOP is for small government when it involves things they don't care about and for big government when its for things they can make money off of.

Just read that my ridiculously small hometown area had 9,000 voters. If true, that's damn near 100% voting participation and I know those inbred hick motherfuckers went Trump.

Uuuuuugh if all small towns in PA are doing this....man I feel sick right now.

Considering another tweet is "The only stains on my underwear are from your daughter's vagina." I'm going to say no.

Considering the guy he is replying to has a user name that ends in 1989, and looks to be 25-35 from his profile picture, that's a pretty weird comment to make. Any daughter the guy is likely to have would be under 10.

Investing in the military is easy pandering for republicans to military communities, not just people in the military but those around bases. Graham is from South Carolina; there are a lot of military bases in that state.

Man this thread gives me such a Flashback of the Brexit thread here.

A lot of people was super certain remain would win...

Votecastr is about as useful at this stage as walking up to a small yapping dog and asking its opinion on quantum mechanics.

Wonder how he'll feel when the actual winner is announced, or is he living in la la land or something?

I don't think Graham has any delusions that Hillary is going to win. He's also publicly said that he will support the nomination hearing of a Hillary supreme court nominee. There's a ton of Senate Republicans to shit on, Graham is not one of them.

Pretty cool seeing Mike Nutter get some spotlight time on CNN. Had a rough time in Philadelphia, a lot of people didn't like him as mayor, but I had no issue.

I'm more interested in what the Senate/House races look like. I'm confident of a Clinton victory, but there are other important races than the Executive.

Ew, I didn't even bother reading the original post. Yuck.

Absolutely. The hard right have been dangerously emboldened in the UK and think their beliefs are shared by the overwhelming majority. Their anti-intellectualism ("we've had enough of experts") is quite scary and sickening.

Do not think for a moment that it'll go away with a Clinton victory.
