I just checked, and about 8.4 million people voted in Florida in 2012. So far, we have around 5.3 million votes counted.

Most of the states are automatically red or blue. But Florida is a swing state with a pretty split population. Trump cannot win without it, but Clinton has more viable paths even if she does lose it.
