Media: Clinton is underperforming, like really badly
90% of thread: omfg we're screwed
10% of thread: pfft, my smug complacency has gotten us this far, dont worry Trump cant win lol is this your first election

Whatever happens...

Let's all vow to do our best to never let it reach this point again.

Let's all become better people to compensate for this becoming a worse country.

Instead of giving into despair, let's double down. We'll become more knowledgeable, and do more with that knowledge. We'll reach out to more people. We'll expand our ambitions. Even if Trump wins, we can still grow our place in the world, and do more to make it a better place.

A Trump victory would be an incredible blow to society, but we can survive. This is a lesson to replace complacency with action, to never again take anything for granted, and to not look to national politics for progress. It starts with us and our communities.

We're in this together. We'll be alright.

Not just a Trump victory im afraid of...repubs are winning the senate and house races as well. Then trump gets to appoint the federal judges too

Even if that's true, he'd still appoint Supreme Court candidates that would reverse a ton of progress.
Possibly. But remember he's still a liar and a con artist. You know for a much bigger certainty that a President Cruz or Bush would elect an irredeemably conservative judge.

In what way, aside from maternity leave for women or whatever it was Ivanka talked about?

He's the first Republican to make the base cheer for trade protectionism. He made the Republican National Convention cheer for gays and lesbians. He has argued for universal health care in the past. He doesn't want to ban abortion on a federal level like Cruz, just "leave it to the states". etc.

Guys, I think we have to face the music.

The more votes come in, the more it is clear that Trump is over performing. The battleground states are going for him, and even states like Michigan and New Hampshire are about to flip.

I think... I think it's over.

Clinton is fine.

The Republicans have been dragging her name through the mud for 25 years.

Um I think given how she is under-performing its pretty clear Clinton isn't "just fine" in terms of being respected by the public. She is going to have to make major strides during her presidency to win 2020

Is this babies first election? forreal, this is not even a big deal. stats are barely starting to drop and you're all acting like the sky is fuckin falling.

calm the fuck down.

Clinton's predicted chance of winning falling from 80% to 40% is not a big deal

alright

So the whole argument about underestimating trump and the primaries and brexit and everything actually had some merit. Even if clinton wins this is gonna be very narrow and states people thought were locks are super close.

This thread is way to tense. I voted, I did my part, I told everyone else to vote.

I'm gonna bunker down and play overwatch and enjoy myself and check in around 11 or so.

Still this is fucking shameful that Hillary isn't winning in a landslide. Fucking. Shameful.

Hateful ass people putting their needs over the needs of the many. Fuck. Back to overwatch I go to calm the fuck down.

People rag on GWB, but Trump is on another level. Dude could easily set the country back 70 years in social progress as well as cause another recession in his first 100 days if Republicans keep control of Congress

He's from New York. I thought people in NY are more liberal than the rest of the country. I hope he has good consultants.

Simpsons does it again.

Can we stop posting that stupid NYT chance? What is it even using to get that number? No new numbers come in and yet it keeps moving.

So much for Hillary winning by a landslide. Even if Hillary does come out on top, I wouldn't be surprised if it turned out to be with a very narrow victory, which is to me absolutely disquieting to say the least.

(And for the compulsory and impeding snark remarks that ask the parroted question so far; no, this isn't my first election. I kept up with both of the 2008 and 2012 elections.)

It won't be electorally narrow, because her biggest state is still ahead. But this seems like it will be much narrower in popular vote than I was expecting. That's disconcerting.

Republican house.

Republican senate.

Even if Hillary wins this she's in for a hell of a time. Supreme Court appointments will be a nightmare.

I'm surprised how things are going more in Trump's direction.

In retrospect, it is plausible that polls are skewed in Clinton's direction because there's:
1. Old people getting polled on landlines which think Trump is indecent
2. Younger men thinking Trump will shake shit up

Mildly concerned - a Trump victory would be toxic. The guy is a piece of shit.

House still holds for Repubs.

Virginia is already starting to break for Clinton, she's behind by 5k votes. People need to chill out this early.

Not the only state she needs tho...She needs to take at least one major battleground state to keep Trump out. How close it is now is just panic-inducing, mainly because it's Trump.
