Losing the primaries doesn't mean you would lose the election.
In fact for a lot of matchups, he was doing better than Clinton because a lot of people that didn't want to vote for Clinton were voting for him, while the Clinton people still voted for him.

I was a Hillary supporter during the primaries but this is bullshit. This was a change election. We dropped the ball big time.

Damn. From the outside looking in this is crazy. I was always for Bernie. But I'm not American. I wondered why America would choose the two most unelectable candidates (literally the only people they could beat was each other, right?), I wondered why democrats thought that Hillary would be an easy sell to the public. This result is against Donald Trump and a million scandals, with no pivot. Imagine the slaughter if Trump had ran a cleaner campaign?

This result, like Brexit, is a testament to the will of the people. But democrats have themselves to blame. Hillary is a hawk, shes pro-finance, she doesn't inspire the wider democratic base. Trump didn't need to work to get Republican voters. They're always on board. He appealed to the damaged middle class who gaf pretty boldly dismissed as irrelevant, outdated and not worth paying attention to.

This, if its a loss, is less Trumps win more democrats loss.
