Two of the most hated candidates ever. And here we are. I fear for my daughter's future. This is really bad. Trump has openly threatened people that criticize him like journalists. He's likely to have near unlimited power to silence those critics. Fuck.

too many people on the left, and on GAF especially, remind me of the conservatives in the years following 9/11 under Bush. Everything was viewed through a polarizing, black and white filter. You are either with us or with the terrorists. You are either a ____ist or you're not.

You can't demonize and shame people and expect they'll agree with you. They'll only dig their heels in further, especially if they feel attacked.

This is some real truth here, folks:
All the people who are very likely or even (ugh) probably going to put Donald fucking Trump in the White House tonight are not voting because they hate women or blacks or mexicans or whoever else. I'm also not saying that the hatred isn't a factor, because it's been shown repeatedly that at least on some level it's an animating force for all of this... but people are complex animals but you've turned them into cartoon villains and stereotypes without every trying to understand them or why they actually feel the way they do.

Polarization is bad. The right has been polarized for a long time, but now the left is too, and it's biting them back hard tonight. If Trump wins and has the House and Senate behind him, this is literally the end of America as we know it and the beginning of a new BRIC nation world alignment. That's really fucking bad.

Biden or sanders would be winning easily imo, but Clinton want to be president so bad.

So I guess best case scenario now is that Trump gets bored of his presidential duties and Pence runs the show behind the scenes. That's still a frightening prospect but I'd prefer it over Trump testing the limits of what can be done as president.
