Michigan, Wisconsin and Pennsivania are all going to trump. The election will be called in the next 30 mins with Trump projected as the winner.

I'm fucking embarrassed as an American.

There are still at least a net 80,000 votes out for Hillary in WI between Dane and Milwaukee counties.

Huh...

is that real? lol

the firs thing this whole thread that has made me laugh

He would had lost, even worse.

This is what alot of our country wants. And it's kinda sad.
No he wouldn't have. People want anti-establishment. The DNC, blind followers, Identity Politics, and assumption is killing the election for her.

People want radical change. Government for the people not beholden to special interests. They want their jobs back. They want honesty.

It's telling NOW how Trump is doing as well as he is. Anti-establishment. Fresh radical approach. A strong promise of SOMETHING that isn't status quo.

DNC shoves Hillary in our face after a lot of questionable activity. The chickens are coming home to roost

I just want to say that I know a lot of people who voted for Trump. Some of them are shitty people. Some of them are great people. Some of them I have a ton of respect for. I'd be willing to bet that you know some people that voted for Trump too. Some of them shitty, some of them great, and some that you have, or had, a ton of respect for. Please don't lump everyone who voted for him into the same boat. Yes, some of them are shitty racists. But are you telling me that half of this country's population deserves to be lumped into that category? Hell, some people are just ignorant. I'm not saying everyone who voted for Trump is, but ignorance and hate are two different things in my book.

The marijuana ballot measure in California passed, legalizing recreational pot for adults ages 21 and older. With 55 percent in favor and 45 percent opposed, the results lined up with the polls we looked at. Marijuana is now legal on the Pacific coast from Mexico to Canada.

Progress.

CNN is so right right now.

All this talk about the Republican party imploding before the election, but now it's the Democratic party that is going to be upended for a long fucking time.

I'm going to go on a long rant here and I'm sure in this fast moving thread no one will read it, but it's going to be at least a little cathartic. I'm also going to put this forum on blast a bit.

You know, I'm just going to take a moment to say that some of us tried to warn so many of you. The whole "social justice warrior" online movement or whatever you want to call it that this forum in particular has come to be dominated by. Shame and spite do not do anything to help one's cause.

Unrepentantly calling all white people racists and bigots and sexists and misogynists is what brought this on. I've joked on here about voting for and supporting Trump, but god knows I never actually did. But I've always been able to at least sympathize with those "deplorables" for the blatant hypocrisy on the left when it comes to all of those social issues that dominate social media these days.

too many people on the left, and on GAF especially, remind me of the conservatives in the years following 9/11 under Bush. Everything was viewed through a polarizing, black and white filter. You are either with us or with the terrorists. You are either a ____ist or you're not.

You can't demonize and shame people and expect they'll agree with you. They'll only dig their heels in further, especially if they feel attacked.

This is some real truth here, folks:
All the people who are very likely or even (ugh) probably going to put Donald fucking Trump in the White House tonight are not voting because they hate women or blacks or mexicans or whoever else. I'm also not saying that the hatred isn't a factor, because it's been shown repeatedly that at least on some level it's an animating force for all of this... but people are complex animals but you've turned them into cartoon villains and stereotypes without every trying to understand them or why they actually feel the way they do.

Polarization is bad. The right has been polarized for a long time, but now the left is too, and it's biting them back hard tonight. If Trump wins and has the House and Senate behind him, this is literally the end of America as we know it and the beginning of a new BRIC nation world alignment. That's really fucking bad.

Amen, brother. I was actually right-leaning when this election cycle started, but I didn't get to where I am now by being insulted. A fuckton of people are indecisive like me, and have now slipped onto the other side as a result of all this.

You know, I did notice that people were describing "it's all trump signs here" and the FBI also being described as such, but polls not reflecting that. But I assumed pollsters knew their methods. Apparently they do not.

I suspect they ignored family- and neighbourhood effects. Family members tend to socially pressurized each other towards similar votes, as do neighbourhoods. Gerrymandering does the rest.

Also, why are electoral member digitally switched per state? A 50-50 vote should not lead to 'all go to this person'.

Honest Question, What happened here?

I assumed that she wasn't going to get the white working class, but did she not get the Black, Hispanic vote as well? Did Bernie supporters not come to her like they assumed?

I thought this was a lock for her?

I'm a lifelong democrat. Didn't vote for her. This whole election made me leave the democratic party.

I'm also a minority.

Do Americans realize their choice of president and government affects the entire world? A Putin-ally as a president, fucking hell....

Pretty much everyone voting for Trump did so for one (or both) of two reasons:

1. He's against abortion.

2. He will give tax cuts to the rich and I believe I will be rich one day.

A republican house, senate, and presidency. In the years during climate change and years before automation. :( I got to get the fuck out of here

We have potentially nominated the worst group ever conceivable to deal with these two huge problems.

Part of me wants to laugh, but I care very deeply about dealing with those issues. But now knowing they may be ignored....:(

First Brexit, now Trump... The right is undoubtly the biggest threat to world peace atm. Maybe it's time to use much, much dirtier methods to stop them. Because if nothing happens, innocent people will suffer and die. This has to stop, now.

This post will likely get lost in the river of crazy coursing through GAF right now, but:

Friends, this won't be the end of the world... and if it IS, then the world will be ended and no one will be around to care. Most likely, this would be a very shitty four years that has repercussions for years beyond, but it's not worth suicide or murder or anything. As unhappy as I am with my country tight now, we have shown that we are capable of using adversity to organize an enact positive change. A Trump Presidency would certainly count as adversity (to human rights, sensible foreign policy, the economy, etc) and I very much think that we would find a way to galvanize.

The end of us isn't here yet. Trump is not disciplined enough to put in the effort needed to destroy the US. It's just going to be a shitty decade, and racist fuckbags will feel justified in openly acting upon their shit, at least for a while. That sucks a LOT, but I predict a very big and healthy movement from minorities and even white men like myself here in the US who will change the zeitgeist.

Keep your heads up. A bloated and avarice-riddled nation like this one is bound to see something like this happen. It's not a huge surprise to anyone who has been paying attention. How we react to it will say a lot. Anyone giving in to despair is probably not going to be a part of that story.
My partner and I are counting on some light in the darkness.

It's hilarious. The Republican party, being supposedly in shambles has obtained the executive, judiciary, and legislative branch in Federal level and even in many states.

The modern DNC is probably the most incompetent party I've seen. It's unbelievable.

The Republican party just knows how to run elections that is what they are best at. And they have been preparing 20 years for this moment. Now we will have to all learn how to survive at least 4 years of terrible governance, which will hopefully swing the pendulum back to sanity.
