The House elects and Trump wins.

Canada’s immigration website has crashed multiple times, according to news reports (it was very slow for this reporter).
Officials do not appear to have addressed why the website is crashing – no updates appeared on Canadian immigration officials’ social media – but many election watchers presumed traffic is slowing the site down following Trump’s lead in electoral votes.

Wisconsin and Arizona aren't going to happen for Hillary.
We're fucked
8 years of progress gone
LGBT rights destroyed
Police will become even more powerful
The climate change agreement is going to be thrown out Dooming mankind

I'm going to go on a long rant here and I'm sure in this fast moving thread no one will read it, but it's going to be at least a little cathartic. I'm also going to put this forum on blast a bit.

You know, I'm just going to take a moment to say that some of us tried to warn so many of you. The whole "social justice warrior" online movement or whatever you want to call it that this forum in particular has come to be dominated by. Shame and spite do not do anything to help one's cause.

Unrepentantly calling all white people racists and bigots and sexists and misogynists is what brought this on. I've joked on here about voting for and supporting Trump, but god knows I never actually did. But I've always been able to at least sympathize with those "deplorables" for the blatant hypocrisy on the left when it comes to all of those social issues that dominate social media these days.

too many people on the left, and on GAF especially, remind me of the conservatives in the years following 9/11 under Bush. Everything was viewed through a polarizing, black and white filter. You are either with us or with the terrorists. You are either a ____ist or you're not.

You can't demonize and shame people and expect they'll agree with you. They'll only dig their heels in further, especially if they feel attacked.

This is some real truth here, folks:
All the people who are very likely or even (ugh) probably going to put Donald fucking Trump in the White House tonight are not voting because they hate women or blacks or mexicans or whoever else. I'm also not saying that the hatred isn't a factor, because it's been shown repeatedly that at least on some level it's an animating force for all of this... but people are complex animals but you've turned them into cartoon villains and stereotypes without every trying to understand them or why they actually feel the way they do.

Polarization is bad. The right has been polarized for a long time, but now the left is too, and it's biting them back hard tonight. If Trump wins and has the House and Senate behind him, this is literally the end of America as we know it and the beginning of a new BRIC nation world alignment. That's really fucking bad.

Yeah bud, I posted earlier from Carl Beijer on this (http://www.carlbeijer.com/2016/09/shunning-is-mostly-performative-and.html). Dead on.

Still holding out for wayne

"ahaha is this the first time you guys are voting? this always happens! calm down"

Calm down, those two words are ingrained in my head, honestly it's filling me with a level of hate i haven't felt in a long time...Those that decided to dickride left leaning polls as the be all end all. Those that claimed we don't need bernie supporters and with everything on trumps head it will be an easy victory even with only 1 newspaper openly endorsing him.
That's what you get with a lot of Hillary supportors. The DNC should've went with a more viable candidate, but we can't have that. It's queen's turn, country be damned. Incredible.

Well this is certainly closer than expected. Clinton is still going to win but will get around only 280 electoral votes. Senate dream is dead, will probably go 52-48.

Biggest shock is women. I guess most really don't care about abortion rights. It's actually not a big deal

Part of me is glad to see this. Let's see what happens with a full republican government. Dems don't care enough to do anything, so I'm mildly curious to see how this plays out with a fully cooperative government. No excuses

I did my part, and PA is still blue. I don't know. I guess we'll see what happens from here. Good luck everybody.

Of course. But which one appealed more divisively to people and preyed on their ignorance?

It certainly wasn't the woman who admitted climate change is real...

Very true. That's how he won the primary. He pivoted very subtly and eventually gave others something more substantial to attach their support to.

However...

A lot of people actually thought/think that Trump is an actual Hitler reborn. This was a huge narrative that people adopted to attack him. If you really believe that Trump is Hitler 2.0, I'm going to say that's probably an ignorant point of view, too.

(for the reactionists out there, no I'm not attempting a both sides are equally bad argument)

I feel like my world is falling apart. I don't think it's dramatic to say this is the beginning of the end. Very disappointed in my fellow Americans right now.
