Well, this is a very troubling development. I only got quips from my team lead's computer about the election and everytime I checked, Trump was in the lead. Can't stop shaking. The man I never thought had a chance of a nomination is going to be President. That complete and total fool is going to lead the free world.

So this is the Republican's new strategy going forward I bet. No more going down the middle bullshit right? Go full crazy, go full hatred, go full not-give-a-fuck and you'll win the hearts of countless so called Americans. George Carlin had it right: the public sucks. But yet, the people have spoken. I don't know if Hillary can come back from this, but it's not looking good.

Stay safe, stay strong, GAF.

Hi guys,

I'm Canadian. Pretty upset at the news. What can I say.

I hope you guys stay calm and have courage. Dark days may be ahead, but you can'T give up...

Take care.

I just want to say that I know a lot of people who voted for Drumpf. Some of them are shitty people. Some of them are great people. Some of them I have a ton of respect for. I'd be willing to bet that you know some people that voted for Drumpf too. Some of them shitty, some of them great, and some that you have, or had, a ton of respect for. Please don't lump everyone who voted for him into the same boat. Yes, some of them are shitty racists. But are you telling me that half of this country's population deserves to be lumped into that category? Hell, some people are just ignorant. I'm not saying everyone who voted for Drumpf is, but ignorance and hate are two different things in my book.

Donald Trump is a racist, mysognistic, rapist, xenophobic, moronic, no policy, windbag manchild. He wants religious testing, he wants to refuse women and children running away from the horrors of war. If they supported him, fuck them.

Oh, HELL FUCKING NO. We've been through this shit once before. Another push to right-wing politics would be fatal.

SPD is horribly afraid of being left, Green Party is dead, CDU targets a middle that noone can identify with and CSU has gone full right.

It will be ugly. Not Trump ugly. But ugly.

What's Hillary's path without Wisconsin?

Are people actually crying or disgusted with people just because of Trump? I've seen posts about people being scared for any of their non-white / LBGT friends...the states arent going to turn into some crazy violent free for all place in the event he does win...

I mean I know, online overexaggeration as usual, but jeez.

Fine. Run, you cowards. Move out of the country. The US doesn't need people who just give the fuck up when they get spanked anyway. The rest of us will still be here making our voices heard because we want our country to be better.

Regardless of who wins, half the damn country is not happy. That is a reality people can't ignore. This country is so disconnected it's sad.

Trying to think positive. If 538 can be relied on for their Senate prediction, they currently have Dems holding 48.5%. Is that enough to foil a veto-proof majority?

This is what those people in Independence Day must have felt when they were watching the graphic of the jets changing to red indicating they lost them.

I'm a Latino brown guy and my home country is in ruins(Venezuela). I don't even think I'm going past this week if Trumps wins.

You need to persevere. No matter what happens, you can't let this shit turn you to that. I can understand the nerves and worry as a fellow black man, but it's not worth ending it all. Please don't.

Good fuggin riddance to Lopponen.

I just realized that with a total red landslide, Obamacare is going to be repealed. With means my excellent employer insurance will drop me due to preexisting conditions. And I won't be able to afford the medicines that keep me alive.

I'm going to suffer and die. Thanks, everyone who voted third party. Thanks.

ACA is dead. People with pre existing condition will now not get healthcare. Don't have money? Tough shit. Pull yourself up by your bootstraps, if you can even stand up. Potential for Medicare to be turned into a voucher program.

Immigration reform is dead. Some form of increased border presence will absolutely happen. Even if it is just an expensive ineffectual wall. Deportations of some measure will happen. Anti-immigrant sentiment will become more accepted and normalized. If you are hispanic you are going to have a rough time. Muslim? Good luck.

Conservative SC for a generation or more. Expect to see more rulings in the vein of Citizens United. Corporations will be cemented as people and they have more money and power than you. Oh and forget about restoring the VRA. Voter suppression of minorities will continue throughout the country. Gay marriage is probably unlikely to be affected but negative rulings against transgender rights may be common place at least at the state level. Republican gerrymandering will continue further cementing control across the country.

Foreign policy wise expect the US to get more heavily entangled in the middle east and a George W. Bush level x 100 of general disrespect toward our allies. Also expect to see a level of nationalist fervor unprecedented in American politics. Putin will be given free reign. We will also see unnecessary and potentially massive increases in military spending. Potential is also here for American forces to support goals that more align with Putin's than the overall wishes of NATO. Any hopes for "small" government will be eradicated by money thrown away in foreign entanglements.

As for the economy Trump is not going to help working class people in places like Michigan. Their jobs are not coming back. The Republican party will not spend the money necessary to help them retrain and enter new fields. Creating a green manufacturing industry was one possible way for this happen. It won't. Trump believes global warming is a conspiracy created by the Chinese.

Taxes will be cut drastically for the 1%. This will further exacerbate the divide between the rich and poor. There will not be an increase in the minimum wage. Government will continue to subsidize the wages of companies like Walmart with food stamps, medicaid and other welfare programs. The people that voted Trump will be the ones most affected by this and they will just blame minorities. Many will also now go without healthcare as the ACA will be destroyed, leaving those that qualified for medicaid or subsidized care without options. They will just blame minorities and many will blame Obamacare long after its dead.

As far as the American political climate Trump's election will make the white nationalist candidate commonplace. You will see many mini-Trumps at the state level across the nation. Qualifications for office like experience in law or politics on some level will now be considered as not required. Celebrities will more likely to run and more likely to win. The American people will reward Republicans for a functioning government not caring that the only reason it is functioning is that Republicans are in full control and no longer obstructing everything.

Following this in 2020 America will re-elect Donald Trump

Flush all progress on climate change down the drain too and that's just horrifying

I'm going to find some way out of this country. My racist family can stay behind and burn in their self-made hell, for all I care.

I want a honest and unbiased answer.

Trump being president. How is that going to change my life?

If you are a white male, not much. If you are a minority, a woman, or non-straight it will be very bad considering a republican congress and supreme court.

I remember when someone on here told me they voted for trump in the primaries so he would loose in the general. I told him that I don't like tempting fate. Well here we are. tempting fate has fucked us.
