United States Election: Nov. 8, 2016 |OT| Hate Trumps Love

I told my dad not to watch because Hillary was going to run away with it. Nobody expected this. Like even if Hillary wins, this was too fucking close. Now look at Michigan, she was closing in but now Trump's pulling away.

Bernie Sanders made a terrible mistake by giving Clinton a pass on her emails in that one debate, and almost giving her a pass to take that nomination. The Democratic party made a terrible mistake by standing so against Bernie. A large portion of the country is angry with how things are being done, left and right. It's why Bernie was so popular and why Trump may win tonight. If it was Bernie against Trump, we may be watching a completely different night unfold.

Like most folks in my area, we voted for Trump today just as we did in the primary. I haven't let that be a secret here. I went to two Trump rallies, posted pictures and went over my experiences at both last year. Hopefully now both sides can start to come together, slowly yet surely.

I feel for everyone that supported Clinton. With an election season this cold, bitter, negative, and just all around uncomfortable I don't like to see either side be so crushed. I just hope everyone from the top all the way down to anonymous folks on message boards can stand back and stop speaking so negatively of one another, and move forward. Not all Democrats are bad and rotten, not on Republicans are racists and bigots. If we all can't stand back and recognize that then no good will be done.

no bro... just no... there is no two sides to this shit... it's either you are racist misogynist or a normal person. this was not partisan.

I'm going to bed.

Look, GAF... I'm a Republican. I voted for Hillary because I think Donald Trump is reprehensible.

This is going to get lost in the pages, but for the one or two people who read it...

... Don't put your faith in government or presidents. Be good people day in and out. Don't lose hope. Be good to others. Be kind to your neighbors and strangers, even those you disagree with. Lead by example.

Progress is inevitable, even when it stumbles back and loses ground.

In the end... you can only be the best person you can be and impact others in a positive way.

I intend to.

Welp, I can only hope at this point that Trump isn't as crazy as he has portrayed himself.

Remember, he used to be a Democrat and has been good friends with the Clinton's in the past. It's only recently that he "switched" to the Republican side.

Also, don't forget his own quote that if he ever ran for president, that he would do it as a Republican because "they're some of the stupidest people on the planet" (unless that was a fake quote)

So... there's hope? :

Also, fuck the DNC for not going for Bernie, who would have won this election handily (and kinda fuck Bernie for calling himself a 'socialist' when he isn't one).

Thankfully though, here in CO looks like we passed new propositions to allow unaffiliated voters (like me) actually vote in our primary...

Yup, was so excited to see that that passed. Colorado continuing to be one of my favorite states. I would stay here if other countries weren't so enticing.

Can someone explain to me how poligaf said this was impossible and that Trump can't win?

Look I don't know what these so called 'predictions' are but Maths says this is all impossible. I mean its mathematically impossible. How could a minority of 30% not beat the majority 70%?

Minorities
Climate change
Education
War
Mass incarceration
Immigration
Health care

Fuck rural America, fuck the bigots, fuck republicans.

Well said bro, I been attacked a lot, even in private emails from people i dont even know and its disgusting imho as i would never do that to someone else. I treat others like how i would like to be treated and thats elementary stuff to be frank.

Well maybe you should tell that to the fucking monster you voted for to be president. considering he literally called an entire country "rapists and thieves"

No. Either you vote for the racist, or you don't.

Polarization happened because one side made racism a part of its strategy, and at no point did that deserve to be treated with the legitimacy that it got.
Any GOP candidate would be labeled a racist; see Romney. So what more exactly did they have to lose?
Trump won Wisconsin.

Trump didn't even win Wisconsin in the Primary.

What a disaster of a candidate Hillary is. Too late to give Obama a third term?
There was nothing he didn't do to make sure everyone knew a vote for Hillary was a vote for him.

Seriously, this is an actual potential end of the world scenario. The Republican government is going to ignore the climate change agreement, we are ALL fucked.
Yep. This can't be glossed over. We might get cheap games in Canada, but we're still fucked over by climate change with the rest of the world. It makes watching 'Before the Flood' last week that much more painful.

Do any of you think Johnson was really a spoiler vote in some states? Or she would've had trouble anyway? Namely WI, MI, NH. (FL too I guess)

trump wins 2016 election

what is in store for us next

Nope because the American people are fed up with the establishment that these people were pushing. I don't like Trump as a person but he represents us Americans who are tire of the status quo and corruption in the US government. He will America great again like it should be.

sooooooo... You vote for him? you Trump supporters sneaky.

White people: Please consider the word "privilege" for a moment without being defensive about it. Then look back at this race. (You can use the word "race" there however you want to.)

I don't know how to go to sleep and wake up in a new world run by a dictatorship. Rep Pres, Rep Senate, Rep House, Rep supreme court. God not only this country but the entire world is going to be so different tomorrow... and not in the good way

Bernie was the ACTUAL one that spoke to the ACTUAL wants of the American people. After a movement as large as Occupy Wall Street he's the easy choice. Instead Americans picked the retarded incest-bred cousin of Bernie in Trump. They lapped up Trump like he was Bernie but he's going to be greedier than any politician ever.

Well all the Bernie Bros that wanted accelerationism through a Trump presidency will get their wish.

On CBC they are interviewing a white Trump supporter in Times Square, explaining that he's a convert to Islam and voted for him as a Muslim. I cannot understand the US right now.

2008: Hillary with crazy bad unapprovals, was beaten by a complete nobody (Obama)
2016: Hillary, with crazy bad unapprovals, was beating by a racist, ignorant, revolting nobody

LET'S NOMINATE HER IN 2020 AND SEE WHAT HAPPENS.

HOLY FUCKING SHIT how much louder does the country have to say "WE DON'T WANT HILLARY CLINTON!"
This. For as bad as Trump is, people seriously do not like Clinton.

HAH! Trump is going to be so much fuckin worse than we could have imagined. And after this election NO ONE WILL FUCKING CARE. Laws will pass, hurting more and more people, and the Americans will be too busy watching the new Marvel movie to even care. Absolutely DISGUSTING.

Thanks everyone who voted Hillary in the primaries. You picked an unlikable candidate with a history of flip flopping on issues and lying according to what worked best to propel her political career. You completely fucked over the dems here and it's quite obvious when she's unable to surpass a fucking buffoon like Trump.

You do realize there are more LBGT deaths going than americans dying in the civil war.
Cite please?

620,000 Americans died in the 4 years of the Civil War.

I mean, I get that Trump as president does not do good things for the LGBT community. I do. I voted against that piece of shit and my state (MD) was one of the first to be called for Clinton.

Obama's the Jay-Z of presidents. He's that cool guy everyone likes so he'll leave amazing and even after he'll still be dope. This shit though? I don't even know. I'm upset and wow if this man becomes president, I can't believe it. America's so fucking dumb man. I gotta go to work tomorrow and look at coworkers who I know voted for this man. Like, are you serious? People are voting for a man who's said these things and done these things? I just can't, ugh. This shit is horrible.

If that's the case I'm saying it now.

Jay-Z for president 2020. I'm with Hov.
