I've been nervous due to Nate silvers model showing momentum and saying he needed one state... Why did people laugh that notion off? As someone not from the US, I am truly saddened to see how much hate, intolerance and overall ignorance can be part of such a great country in order for something like this to happen. Specially after having such an incredible president during the last 8 years.

It is very depressing and I don't really get the jokes about the whole world laughing at the US when in reality we will all be impacted by this decision one way or another for at least 4 years.

I am not a believer but if there is some type of god I truly hope he/she/it pulls a rabbit out of the hat in the next hour or so to turn this around.

Yeah, hyperbole is pretty standard for these things. This is something that happens on both sides actually.

For real. It took my mom until the time we were leaving the house to decide she was actually going to vote for Clinton. Hell, I had to convince her last night to even go vote for down ballot races. Just a reminder, this man will be appointing justices to the SCOTUS who will be there for decades. This definitely will have an impact beyond 4-8 years.

The worst part about this is the realization of how naive I was. I live in an echo chamber. I'm a liberal college student, I browse GAF, I listened to pollsters who were apparently rock-solid, and it turns out that the reality I live in is not the real America. Yeah, I voted for him in the state of Florida and I'm glad I did.
