fuck you white people
fuck you racists
fuck you sexists
fuck you 2016

You gotta realize that shit like this is why white people are voting for Trump. No one wants to be made to feel like shit. There is no olive branch, just shit like this. Keep up the good work.

The takeaway from this election, and the thing we all probably underestimated, is how easily and fiercely stupid people can be mobilized, as evidence by the sudden surge of Trump supporters popping up in this thread. I would love for anybody who supports or voted for Trump but swears they aren't ignorant and/or a racist to give me one policy or position of his, just one, that you agree with or support that A) isn't rooted in some kind of hate, bigotry, or racism or b) is an ACTUAL position, and not just him saying "it'll be great I'll fix it i promise"

Go ahead, I'll wait.

Most people don't believe they are, and when you come with super heated terms like that, they're turned away. The dem campaign has been a morality circle jerk. You can maintain you're not a racist while voting for Trump. It's not hard. It's words. The second you say you might agree with _anything_ Trump says, you get slammed. Nobody likes that, nobody want's that. Keep calling them stupid, keep calling them ignorant, keep labeling them as racists. Keep them disenfranchised.

While you and everyone else was waiting for those people to explain themselves, they went out and voted.

And now we're fucked

MSNBC really keeping the torch lit as long as they can

Well she has a path to a victory here...sorta...I guess? But uh she's behind in every single one of these states. Back to you Brian.

Someone tell me why this logic is broken:

Majority of Americans are white
A Candidate shows strong preference over white population
Democracy kicks in and elects a candidate that will govern favorably towards the majority
Trump barely won the popular vote so he is hardly a large favorite with anyone.

I just woke up. What the hell America. You had one job. I'm not a religious man , but now's the time to pray that he still ends up losing.

This is an extremely radical shift in US politics. The Dems lost ALL of the former union vote. The title of this election should really be: The Rust Belt Strikes Back. With the Boomer generation of FDR dems pretty much dead, these blue states filled with ignored union voters who typically always go Dem have revolted. As I saw someone Fox News say, the Dems nominated an elitist when the country wanted a populist.

Nah - he was wrong, but closer than any of his competitors.

Polling as we know it is probably over though. We're doing something fundamentally wrong if Brexit and Trump can both win even though the polls almost universally said otherwise.

Polls for Brexit were not comparable here, and just because Trump won here doesn't magically make it so. There was always an up and down aspect of polling to Brexit and there was always a chance that the UK could leave or remain. A lot of people just don't want to face the fact that a lot of people in the UK wanted to, or thought they wanted, leave the EU.

This election was totally different. It wasn't just us not wanting to believe Trump could win, the numbers told us literally every step of the way that it was highly unlikely at worst, near impossible at best. Trump tanked twice, twice, worse than any other candidate in modern history. Brexit wasn't really wrong, it was just always close and one side edged out. This...I don't know what this is. All I can really think is the Silent Majority, those who were not polled and planned to come out for Trump.

We weren't certain that most white people don't give a shit about minorities, but now we know for sure.

They did. He wasn't even elected by majority vote once. After then we went into the worst economic depression in god knows how long.

You wanna know something mind blowing. I work in a hospital in Ohio with a lot of women, I'm taking majority women, and so many, so fucking many, support Trump. Why? I don't fucking know why.

This is something places like GAF seriously underestimate. Blame the white racist men. But dont forget the minorities, women, and PoC who vote Trump. God knows why, but they exist. Id REALLY like to know what the makeup of the Republican voters are.

Because it should be a given that white people wouldn't throw their minority brothers and sisters under the bus

But it's not

And here we are

Van Jones speaking to my frustration made me fell a bit better, going to go to sleep. Hopefully I wake up to good news, but if not just gotta push on.

We weren't certain that most white people don't give a shit about minorities, but now we know for sure.

Not so much dont give a shit, ambivalence would be preferable to the active hate that exists. You can't even go to a trump rally with dark skin even if you are a supporter.

I am super depressed. I had EVERYTHING planned out. My Hotel Reservations, Travel Plans, Sight Seeing, Airline Booked. Now all I am left is fucking NOTHING!

Trump has an edge because he promised people in the rust belt and coal miners and industrial workers that he would save their jobs when that's literally not possible.

True, but he is really an outsider compared to the many President's we had in the past. There are some angry whites in parts of the country and like CNN said, they are making themselves heard.

Your frivolity over the most serious of positions in the world is troubling.

It's telling, more than anything. That we have more people more concerned over this being entertaining rather than it ratifying the attitudes of those that consider large portions of the country as lesser than they are.

Exactly. And Bernie offered something that would've actually helped those people. I guess it will take 4 years for them to learn that lesson though.

Listening to trump supporters being interviewed. My God, the disconnect from reality is massive. Somehow Donald is the Everyman, Clinton is a liar who's never done anything for America in 30 years, and Donald had done more because he runs many businesses employing women.....okaaaaay. Oh the tinfoil hat came out as well; she's a communist sympathizer trying to take down America from the inside.

So, it's quarter to seven in the morning here in Germany and I've just rolled out of bed. What the ever-loving fuck.

No matter who wins in the end, the mere fact that it got this close is damning. You done fucked up, US.

After the Brits go insane, the US collectively loses their shit. What ... The... Gnaaaaahkgskhbksjkn

WHY WASN'T BERNIE VICE PRESIDENTIAL CANDIDATE

also if you call white people voting for trump racist, then anyone who voted for him in primaries for ANY reason will fucking hate you

I am happy and I'm from and living in Mexico! Do I support Trump? NO! But the DNC and Hillary Clinton wronged Bernie, a true progressive that had this in the bag and was robbed by primaries shenanigans. The smugness from HillaryGAF was off the charts and since GAF became an echo chamber it is only natural to say "I told you so" from everyone else that didn't drink the YAS QUEEN kool-aid.
While I agree HillaryGAF was too smug, you should be worried about Mexico after Trump wins. Hell the peso is already plummeting after all the plummeting it already did this year. Plus you have people like AMLO running for president who have voiced that they see no problem with Trump. It will be a very scary time for the country.

I'm gonna go for a run this is just sad at this point.

Really disappointed in the US. Everyone who voted for him should be ashamed of themselves.

It's more an uprooting of the establishment like with brexit. You have a large portion of the population not benefiting from globalization at all, and unhappy with how the government is running. So instead of running Bernie we get an establishment candidate.... DNC fucked themselves.

But you can't dismiss all of that by saying "anti-establishment", not easily. 12 women have claimed he assaulted them, so that's 12 women the voters have ignored, due to wanting an "anti-establishment" figure. He called Alicia Machado a pig - we all heard it - but apparently, that's okay if you're "anti-establishment".

Yeah, people wanted "anti-establishment". But they have literally left their morals at the door because they wanted that over someone who would've fought for better pay and more rights. You can only push the "anti-establishment" argument so far, before you take a look at what Trump is, and realise that people are ignorant and selfish.

I voted Bernie in the primaries. I was then told I was a moron and I should let it go because he was "unelectable" because he was too out there. I then voted Hillary and was led to believe she was a shoe in over Trump.

I find it hard to see how he could have done any worse than Hillary here. She wasn't even able to win over a sexist reality TV star. Kinda wishing more people would have went Bernie.
