I'm starting to think that after Bush's whole "President I could have a beer with" image that maybe Trump's horrible comments and "pussy grabbing" actually HELPED him.

God help us.
 
I'm so fucking done with politics. As a somewhat new adult, this was the first election I really took part in and invested time into and it's been disappointment after disappointment after disappointment after fucking disappointment.

This country is fucked and there's no cure for the disease. Ignorance and hatred win the fucking day.

Same opinion. I live in Japan and despite all his bull rhetoric about the bases abroad, there is very little doubt he will move/remove any of them. Unless he goes off his rocker... more so, and just says fuck it bring them back home, all these bases, their planned expansions (here in Japan anyway) and more are all gonna sit exactly where they are. For better or worse.

Like 90% of the nonsense he spouted during the campaign there is no realistic way to just make it happen without affecting the dozens of situations around them. Namely China and N. Korea in terms of USA bases in the region.

This is one of the main things that frankly bothers me..It goes against everything I've learned about human decency and how to get ahead in life..but the dude still was able to get this far. I know it happens because that's life, but to become president? Disappointed for sure.

No, they're gonna work with Trump on everything that he does, just like the Republicans didn't do with Obama.
 
Yeah...Trump looks like he really didn't want to win. I was saying it for the longest time but to me he seemed like he was going all out because he figured there was no way he was taking it. He could use this to have a new show, more business endeavors, all sorts of shit. Now however?

Well there are lots of people on this forum who rally for wealth equality so that's a positive I guess.

When the US economy tanks then it allows every other country to start catching up.
 
I had been holding on to a slimmer of hope that somehow Clinton would pull through, it's been gone for a while now though. Not an American but still scared for what the next four years brings us

Why the fuck do I even bother learning History. Nobody ever learns a goddamn thing. I desperately wanted to believe in Democracy but John Adams was right. Plato was right and he's been right for 2,500 years. People will readily vote away their freedom and welcome tyranny against their own interests out of sheer unfounded fear.

Feels great to know everything I've learned in University is complete bunk because of the mobocracy. Fuck America. A failure as a country. We deserve this. Democracy has not failed, only reached its natural endpoint. I am so angry right now. I have never been even remotely close to being this angry. Or drunk.
