There will likely be reams of data coming in during the next few weeks and just what really happened today. However, one thing stood out above all else from the presidential exit polls:

http://www.cnn.com/election/results/exit-polls

29% of Latinos overall supported Trump, that is 2% higher than Mitt Romney's number 4 years ago

8% of Blacks overall supported Trump, that is also 2% higher than Mitt Romney's number 4 years ago

29% Asians supported Trump as well, higher than expected

53% of White Women supported Trump, even AFTER the Access Hollywood tapes and allegations of probable molestations

The die is cast. Trump won because the demographics most ostensibly hostile to him in theory, were not in reality

The only problem was that we didn't run Bernie though right? Like..... that one thing would have fixed everything.

...

No really.

I'm not that shocked. I mean I think he'd lose the Muslim vote but the same reason working class whites will vote for him is the same reason working class minorities will vote for him.

you can be a bully and you can be a racist

you can spew out folly and you can be a sexist

you can take a dolly full of kkk and make fun of someone autist

you can grab some pussy and be nowhere close to an artist

and be a winner, a president of the US of A

People bought into the narrative that Hilary was as bad as Trump, couple that with the low enthusiasm and the fact she represented the status quo people are sick of and there you go.

Trump said all the racist and sexist things that any candidate has ever said and he gained support from minorities and white women. I just don't know what to say.

Look at youtube. There are tons of videos out there to back it up, where minorities were venting frustration over themselves feeling marginalized by the Democratic party.

Yeah, it surprised the hell out of me too.

All in all, virtually every candidate in this race was embarrassing.
Bernie the least so in my eyes, but still. What a bunch of losers.

Honest analysis:
Latinos range from light-skinned to dark-skinned. Past research shows that dark-skinned Latinos basically vote like black voters do. Light-skinned Latinos basically vote like white voters do. They are ideologically more conservative, more likely to speak English, etc.

In an election with low overall turnout, including Latino turnout, but a boost to some white turnout based on Trump's coattails, what we have is a whitening of the Latino electorate in a way that looks like more Latinos support Trump than did Romney, even if no one's votes changed.

We may have a ceiling effect, where almost all non-white Latinos are voting D, and so the lopsidedness of the tilt is unlikely to increase without demographic change.

Hey, guess what?

The opposition was so bad & unattractive that even minorities voted for a candidate that spewed vile language against their race & gender. What a shocker!

Said this before, but all types of people really disliked Clinton. Many black women I know felt like she wasn't really in their corner, so some didn't even bother voting. Don't know if they voted for Trump though.

think one of the bigger things is the when they decided their presidential vote. clinton had majority for those that were decided before sept 30. Everything else, aka undecided, was trump

There is NOTHING "so unattractive" about Clinton to justify a vote for Trump.

How could people buy into his lies. Minority or not. Just look at what he says, do some research, assess whether its a lie or not. This thread will talk about how could these minorities vote for him etc etc. And ignore the majority of whites that voted for all them.

They all did for the same reason. Mindless drones that don't know how to critically think. Simple as that.

SAD.

This. America has a tendency to group minorities into a monolithic structure and expect them to move in one direction.

So, I don't like Hilary so I'll choose the candidate that straight attacks my own race/gender and will make my life worse?

You Americans keep getting weirder today.

I know some minorities who voted for him. Their argument is stuff like Obamacare and their very own way of life. With Hillary they think it will be more of the same, with Trump they think it could get better and change is needed. It's not that Trump won, it's more that Hillary lost.

The media shouldnt have made it look like jokes maybe? (The mysogynism and stuff).
Part of the problem was that Trump said so many bat shit insane things that the media laughed it off as Trump being Trump. CNN also gave his mouth pieces a very big platform which didn't help.

Also the very pro Trump supporters live in a bubble and no matter what he said it didn't matter he had their vote from day one and it was up to the democrats to convince those not in the bubble to vote against him and it clearly didn't happen.

This is a good example of "I got mine" which is sad because Hilary's campaign and message was so good and Included everyone it was an important message that the US needed but sadly it just didn't stick.

There is no possible way for Hillary to run again right? This is the most embarrassing defeat of all time.

She shouldn't. If I were here I'd stop giving a fuck and just chill...but I hope she stays herself and continues to help those in need like she's done all her life.
