The real victim here are all the series that will never get "official" English releases and now people won't be able to read them.
Well they can still read them. They are just harder to find now.

It amazes me that there is a Jump editor who actually approved a Bleach chapter that consisted entirely of Ichigo’s dumb friends trying to kill Aizen. I mean, seriously.

It's a really hilarious segment of the manga we're in now, because if anyone actually tries to attack Aizen they'll die. So they can't fight back, but the author won't kill any of them, so we get to see them do...nothing!

Wow, Onemanga is going down:

Fools better not shut down Mangatraders, the thought of tracking down scanlator websites just to find individual chapters is not something I enjoy.

This is great.

Last week it was Manga Toshokan.
This week Onemanga.
Next week?
Manga Stream

Maybe now that the hotdog stand is no longer unattended people will stop complaining about the free mustard.
Or the people complaining about the complainers can just step over to the Naruto Shippuuden thread and cry as they see legions of people bitching over a free show's animation.

One Manga and Manga Toshokan were my favorite manga sites. I'm not sure what to do now ;_;

MangaStream is a scanslator and they constantly delete old chapters from their site. I think they'll be safe.

Bet you miss the taste of mustard already.

The only funny thing about the Bleach chapter was Aizen admitting he's trolling us because he wasted half the panels pretending to search for them when he knew where they were the whole time. Seriously, this chapter was awful. The ending was so stupid too. Are we supposed to believe Gin is actually going to do something?

Bleach

I'm baffled by how little happened in this chapter. It is like a parody of the DBZ Goku vs Frieza episodes where the smallest events were stretched thin to buy time.

What gets me is that there is stuff to show. The Yami fight, Ichigo's training, status updates on the dozens of characters ko'd in the meaningless battles, etc. Instead nothing happened.

Fuck, guess I'm going back to baka-updates to dl manga from now on :(

Anyway; Bleach! I actually liked this chapter since we found out what Afrogami's release was.

Bleach: You know it's bad when I dont even take pleasure in the weekly Aizen troll.

Naruto: Minato figured out Madara's trick, countered it, tagged him with his trademark, and took away his pet. Just completely owned. We always heard the 4th was a beast, but to actually see it is so awesome.

One Piece:The blue balls. This reveal had better be insane. :lol @ Sanji.

I'm shocked he had one. Ichigo's reiatsu alone made him piss his robes.

The way it's going Gin will get one shotted by Aizen for no discernible reason.

I wouldn't be surprised. I hope people don't actually still think Gin's going to do anything besides get wasted like every other villain not named Aizen.

Love letter to Aizen-sama
Loved this chapter so much, as it conveys the futility of resisting aizen-sama so well. I was worried for a byou there that aizen-sama's kami might get singed by that bakuhatsu cause he didn't dodge it. But aizen-sama was just being cheeky, he has more reiatsu in the tip of his hair than the average shinigami has in his entire karada. ;-)

Seriously, where am I going to read out of print stuff like Kimagure Orange Road? I check out out amazon and it's like 30-50 PER VOLUME. Fuck THAT. I check out tokyotosho and find jack shit.
Found it on BakaBT by googling.

Naruto

Goddamn. The fourth hokage was seriously a fucking monster. Within a few seconds, he beat the shit out of Madara and took away his control over the Kyuubi. Goddamn.

It's so damn sad to see what happens with Naruto's family. Especially the full color spread of what Naruto's life would have been if his parents were still alive. Damn. Poor kid lost everything moments after his birth.

With Naruto learning all this, I hope he rips Madara in half.

Also, I hope there's some way to undo the effects of the Dead Demon seal. Just sucks knowing Minato and the Third will never rest in peace 'cause of that.

It's on mangatraders.

I've never heard of BakaBT. Are they good? I've been using TT for like 6+ years.

Thanksssss <3

BakaBT is mostly for old/completed series unlike TT.

This chapter proved that Minato lied to Naruto about Madara overpowering him. It's cool though Kishi Sharingan can suck a dick.

Edit: What's up with Madara's chains?

They used to be BoxTorrents, so yeah. As long as you give in your share or seed you're welcome to anything you want. I download artbooks off of it sometimes.

:lol Fools? Surprised it took the alliance this long to take down Onemanga. They were making bank off other people's work.

Should I read Wolf Guy? I should catch up on popular manga I haven't read this week.
I feel it is something that should definitely be read once.

Hehe, however that may turn out. :D

And yeah, Kishi totally either forgot, or retconned Minato saying Madara was such a powerful ninja and how he was owned by him (which just aired in the anime). Madara looks like such a weakling after that, no wonder he needed Pain.

Just took a look at some of the forums on the closing (and soon to be closing) sites. This might be more serious than I thought. I didn't know publishers were targeting 30 sites. That probably includes some download sites as well. This could be a turning point in the distribution of manga in the western hemisphere.

Damn, they got OneManga...

I was using them for most of the non-"big three" mangas I read. :(

Bleach

God this was lame. I'm actually starting to find Aizen's trolling of both the readers and the characters more obnoxious than funny now. :/

Naruto

Good chapter. Minato is awesome.

I haven't seen anyone really use the hand seals in so long. Almost everyone just instantly blows out their attacks now. :lol

One Piece

Sanji's reactions. :lol

Oh man, so much I want to know. Lots of content in this chapter. :D

I actually think that Aizen IS going to strike down Gin next chapter now. He did not look pleased at all when Gin showed up at the end. He probably knows Gin put hos before bros with big boobs.

So back to IRC only releases?

Few more,
Manga Updates is the best to generally search for...well anything. Normally if there is a scan out there. It will be in the system but they host nothing. It's simply just lists who did what.

Stop Tamzo has many of the more popular series. Updates slowly, but it works well.

BakaBT was originally BoxTorrents till they found out the owner was funneling donations. :lol
That brings me back memories, i remember i used to get manga from that site and some site called direct manga? (think it doesn't exist anymore). I haven't been to that site in years.:lol

Didn't MangaFox or whatever manga branch the Narutofan site launched charge people to download manga? I'm surprised they're still going at it.

Fortunately, there's a lot more scanslators than that out there, so I don't think they'll be a target. There will always be a way to read our favorite series online even if it ends up being less convenient than what we're used to.

Dresden said:
Wouldn't be surprised if Mangafox goes next. I guess the owners want to avoid getting into lawsuits.
Why would they get sued for doing legal things? I am so confused right now. Aizen-sama warm me with your comforting bosom T__T

You have to wonder what's really going on, though - manga print distribution has been on a downturn for awhile in North America - choking out the scanlators is a fine idea until they realize how few manga series manage to a) finish or b) stay in print. For every Viz powerplay move like the Naruto and One Piece catch-up releases, we've seen other pubs go under. (Initial D, of all manga, is technically unlicensed right now. :lol )

My pie-in-the-sky hope is that they sign up with iBooks/Amazon/Kobo/whatever for digital distribution, but we've seen next to nothing in that regard from any manga provider so far.
