Do you guys think the CW is going to renew CEG? I'm not sure what they expected when they renewed the lowest-rated show on network television and moved it to Fridays but I doubt they expected the ratings to go up. Still, these ratings are pretty low and we have no idea how well the show does on Netflix and the CW app. Does it slip through based solely on critical acclaim and awards potential?

I think at this point there are just too many variables to give an answer one way or the other, honestly. I believe the last time I saw CW's Live+7 nunbers, they generally bump up considerably (like, the Flash, if I remember correctly, nearly doubles it's viewership), so that could be a factor and something that I'm sure they consider when talking about a Friday show.

Another important factor is the show's performance overseas. Many CW shows are relatively more popular abroad (for example, I believe Reign was once in the top 5 shows in Spain).

So who knows, really.

Cinemax Returns To Action, Pulpy Series & Co-Prods In New Programming Strategy[/url]

So S3 of The Knick is a no go then. Shame. Loved S2 despite how depressing as shit it was, and I would've loved to have seen another season set in a different time period, but I guess it ain't meant to be. :(

I think it still has a chance. One that will involve Fridays or Summers.

is Quantico going to get cancelled?

I think it wont get a shortened season when it returns jan 23. But an s3 may be out of the question unless there are no other good series in abcs pipeline. Should have made it a weekday show IMO.

ABC has some huge problems like Secrets and Lies, Notorious and Conviction. Question is if they have enough to replace those shows and then do something about Quantico.

Possibly a bit too early, but any news on if The Librarians is getting a fourth season? It's actually a fun little series, and whilst it being only 10 eps per season means there's no bad episodes, it also means there's not much of it to watch. :(

I've been keeping an eye out and so far no word. The ratings seem pretty consistent from what I can tell so I am guessing that it will get renewed. I really hope we get at least 5 seasons. I wish we could get the seasons and the movie trilogy on Blu-Ray though.

Last year it got renewed around December 15th. Expect potential renewal news by the end of the year.

Ohhh, cheers! Will keep an eye out. :D

Yeah, I'm resigned to getting the DVDs when I have some spare cash, but I'd much rather BRs.

There's a weird british supernatural detective show on netflix starring Elijah Wood, wtf is this?

And whats up with Elijah and these weird little off beat shows? Dont get me wrong good for him, I liked that weird dog show, his career is just bizarre.

It's an American show.

It's a BBC America original series (though they're partnered with Netflix, who has the rights to it outside the US).

It's a very fun show.

But is it as good as The Strain tho?

:3

No lies, I want the strain to hit my region's netflix lol >_<

What is going on with searches on the board? I'm always getting a blank page.

There's some server stuff being worked on today and probably tomorrow. vBulletin related stuff. You may experience stuff break for very brief periods of time--normally when changes are deployed and cached data on the production servers is out of whack with what it's supposed to be.

Thanks, at least I know now that I did not break something on my end.

Just checked around, and apparently they are available on Blu Ray... Kind of.

Seasons 1 and 2 released in France and Germany, Region B locked, no English Subs. German releases seem better since they have DTS-HD MA English audio track, which the French releases don't.

Heavy post edit:

German release of Season 1 has episode cuts:

Firstly I really enjoy this series. However, I was disappointed to find that episodes had between 1 to 12 minutes removed from the aired episodes. Why do they have to cut them back and make them look like they had between 15 to 30 minutes of ads when originally aired. Why can they not just leave them uncut and allow the fans who buy these videos to enjoy the full show.

(via Amazon review)

Movie Trilogy on Blu Ray is also bad:

Beware : this boxet only include the short version of the first episode : 15 minutes are lacking from the american extended version dvd, and I was very unhappy of this.

No bonuses, no interactive menue, no chapter index : only the short version of the tv movies, in english, with optional subtitles in nederland language.

(again via Amazon)

Deadline on Cinemax going back to their roots: (well, not to their Skinemax roots, but what came shortly after that)

- Cinemax Returns To Action, Pulpy Series & Co-Prods In New Programming Strategy

This makes me worried about Quarry. It still had pretty low budget despite looking incredible (dat Yaitanes wizardry), so I hope they will give it a second season.

And I really hope their return to roots will mean that the damn John Rain will finally move forward. Seem to be inline with the style they're aiming and would work well as international cooperation. The problem might be Keanu being to big of a star for Cinemax.

And I wouldn't mind new Femme Fatales season. That show was fun :D

Now if ABC could show Frozen EVERY Sunday...

All I care about is Crazy Ex-Girlfriend. Please get renewed!

I like Notorious, but I have a feeling that definitely won't be renewed.

I wouldn't mind more Agents of Shield either.

That Netflix show from the creators of Sound of My Voice and The East has a trailer out (also made a thread for it).
It looks great and all that, but they're airing it this Friday. Which is way sooner than I thought, like way way sooner. I'm not sure I like how it just gets dumped out with very little fanfare, oh well, I hope Netflix know what they're doing. 'twas also nice to see Jason Isaacs in a role, didn't know he was in it.

Yeah, watched the trailer a little earlier. I don't remember seeing this on the Netflix schedule, though maybe I just missed it. It's billed as a sci-fi/mystery show but the trailer shows no sci-fi in it (except for the bumpy countryside maybe? And the lab shots), so there must be some surprises in there. The talent behind the show makes me super interested. I'll definitely give it a try.

Southern Gothic Soap Opera Starring Reba McEntire In Works At ABC from Desperate Housewives creator

Described as a Southern Gothic soap opera, the show is set in motion after a horrible, suspected act of terrorism happens at a 4th of July parade in the small town of Oxblood, Kentucky. The FBI sends a cocky agent of Middle Eastern descent to investigate. He teams up with the mercurial local Sheriff (McEntire) to uncover secrets far darker than either could have ever imagined.

Ah, makes sense why old people would suddenly tune in for it. lol

Maybe networks should just start rerunning old colourized sitcoms during the dead weeks in between sweeps.
Might as well, the country has decided to pretend its the mid 20th century again.

heh that reminds me of the time i asked my dad if his memories were in black and white.

i was 21 at the time. but i was high af so it seemed logical enough

Netflix has cancelled 'Marco Polo' after 2 seasons.

EDIT: Is this the first Netflix series to end as an incomplete story? I know that having 'completed' series was purportedly a major part of their model, so it's strange to see them not give the show a wrap up special at least.

Marco Polo is one of those shows that has been sitting in my queue since it premiered. How long has it been, 2 years ago? I just remember all the chatter about the first season being insanely expensive to produce and then Netflix swooped in and got it. Guess it wasn't generating enough interest to justify the cost.

I watched the first episode of Marco Polo and only remember a lot of talking. I'd had a few drinks, so maybe that's why I remember a lot of talking. Ah well. As is the way with everything, I'll get around to it one day.

He's too busy with Earth Has Fallen.

Lol exactly the same situation. I came back home drunk and tried watching it and got lost during some throne room scene. A friend of mine is super into it, always bugging me about watching it properly.

Man, I watched the first episode of New Girl and it's like a completely different show from that Brooklyn 99 crossover episode. What the hell happened in 5 years. lol

that crossover was garbage. The show changed in five years regardless, but dont judge it based on the brooklyn nine nine part.

Well now that a slightly bigger profile show on Netflix has been canceled they are no longer super special money pits you can beg into to keep shows alive long past their due.
