Overwatch: Reflections comic out [Hanzo cake obsession and Roadhog's circumcision]

Alright all your bastards saying that Pharmercy is dead!

#1: Pharah has her Raindancer & Thunderbird alts that people thought were weird and out of place. Why would an Egyptian character have outfits referring to Native Americans?

#2: The outfits have a huge resemblance to the Eyak/Tlingit/Haida/Tsimshian people, which were tribes in the Pacific Northwest (including parts of Canada).

#3: In the scene of Pharah having dinner with the mystery man, the shots of the TV in the background seem to hint that they're having dinner in Canada.

So why would Pharah have outfits that don't connect to her mother's Egyptian heritage? Because they connect with her father's Native American heritage. And she's in Canada having dinner with him for Christmas. She's being a good daughter and seeing a father she probably doesn't get to run into as often as her mother while her wife is away on work.

I think she's just stalking him. There's a line in the game where he very angrily insists his actual name isn't Joel to her (when it obviously is).

Usually you'd just cut lines for that region similar to how you remove skeletons for China.
I just assumed from that panel that they just somehow happened to be at the same bar at the same time.

Wow, these people are Platinum Mad.
I have a problem with her being gay

her gf isn't widow
Right? My dumb ass actually thought she was getting that scarf for Widowmaker, the ship was so convincing.
No fuck everything I wanted Mercy76. :(
You'll get your old people sex and like it!

Real talk, Ana looks like she can still go with no problems.

Also, they left way too many people off this comic.
imagine being horny for widow and not wanting her to punch you in the face and stomp on you. what a sad existence
Death would be a welcome alternative.

That was a very well done comic. Winstons bit was a bit touching too. Props to Blizzard for the good work

How do shippers justify the characters shooting each other in the game?

Like do you just force yourself to change characters or something? Or do you pretend it's rubber bullets?

Those skins use pacific islander patterns not native american ones. They are more Samoan and Maori, less american native

as with all MP games those fights aren't canon!!!! except for the lines they say to each other like Ana saying "What happened to you Gabriel?" to Reaper or Junkrat saying "Guess we know who's on top now eh?" to Roadhog!!! Those count!!

I hope not, that cliche sucks.

I hope I'm wrong, as I love her design & she really is a cool looking character. But so far (both from her comic & in-game dialogue), she comes across as a by-the-book military stiff. I thought Soldier: 76 was going to be the boring military type, but that hasn't been the case & he can be pretty hilarious at times. Really, Fareeha has the most normal (if not boring) personality from the core cast of heroes.

You forgot one thing:

SHE'S DRINKING WINE AND ABOUT TO GET TIPSY AS FUCK WITH THE DUDE. IT'S DEAD.

I imagine the same way Blizzard discards Lore and has friends and family shoot each other in game.

That was kind of a shitty place to put a spoiler for a completely different game... =/ Playing through TLOU Remastered right now and I didn't know this. I assumed your marked spoiler would be Overwatch related because, you know, we're talking about Overwatch.

Assuming your concern is for narrative reasons, the spoiler in question has little to no relevance on the main game. Like, it literally doesn't even come up except for DLC.

And even then, it's not the focus.

Anywho, real talk, the odds of Widowtracer actually happening are slim to none barring some huge shakedown of the universe - their interaction isn't friendly rivalry. Widow likes tormenting Tracer in their pre-match lines, but Tracer is not a fan after Mondatta.

Plus the whole opposite sides issue, not to mention Widow's brainwashing, being married (happily, purportedly) before that, Tracer's new civvie girlfriend...

Won't stop the shipping, though, nor would I want it to.

Still, it's got more official 'wink-wink' now than Pharmercy does

The matches are not canon. Otherwise it would not make sense for the bad guys to be on the same team as the good guys.

the genji/mercy thing isn't romantic, genji just feels indebted to mercy for making his badass robot suit and bringing him back to life. Pharah's having dinner with like... her dad, it looks like? And not calling her mom, which seems kinda rude tbh.

that's what i'm telling myself anyway

I mean this is the same game where nobody is bothered by how the attackers on King's Row are technically committing mass murder by slaughtering thousands of omnics in a ghetto with an EMP blast.

you may have noticed that the game often has characters shooting their teammates, shipmates, and even themselves

PHARMERCY IS NOT DEAD

Lucio is a Brazilian and his skins basically paint him as a Canadian. Why would a Brazilian have no non-English voice lines, a frog skin that is a near perfect homage to Deadmau5 (a Canadian) and two hockey skins? It's evident that Blizzard had different visions for characters along the way and was willing to repurpose them for the final character. Pharah probably started in concept as a Native American, or was imagined to have some Native parentage that was thrown out at some point.
