Steam Winter Sale 2016 thread of hoping for better deals elsewhere

Not on the EU store and I don't want to go through the hassle of buying it from the US store.

As for the Steam sale: :{

You probably had the US store open and then logged into the EU store (it will autodirect to the region your account is). It's been on sale alot recently, so it will come up again soon.

Most sales are not in effect yet it seems.. Satellite Reign at -85% is the best deal I saw so far.

That's really tempting.

Might be my first unplanned purchase for the sale.

Any enablers?

Still no rimworld sale :-(

The game was released in 2013 and is still getting ALPHA updates.

Don't expect it to go on sale or leave Early Access anytime soon.

As it stands, it feels feature-compete already (esp. after the Alpha 16 update this week), and well worth the full asking price.

If you really want to play it, just hop in now.

Got Final Fantasy X/X-2 HD so far through the SE EU Store. Hoping to get IX too but I'll have to see if my budget allows it in the end.

One of the most recently released ones.
They actually just ported it to the PC, whereas VII and VIII had PC versions that existed for years.

Also, it's not really that old a Final Fantasy. It came out only a year before X did.
Those were all Square price mistakes.

ah right, recent port

It was also cheaper than this during Black Friday on the SE Store. Not too surprising I guess that SE wants to sell via them instead of valve, but no refunds that way.

the SE store version isn't a steam key I take it?

Likely won't see a sale on Factorio or Rimworld until their 1.0 versions release.

Highly recommended at full price right now.

Yeah I might wait for it to be fully finished anyway. Got subnautica in my library and waiting for that to be done so I can play the full version. Got plenty of games to play.

Factorio and Rimworld have an insane amount of content right now. Early Access in this case means the developers aren't finished with iterating on the games yet.

Man they really spoiled me a few years ago with 80% off games on a regular basis. There's almost nothing I want to play badly enough to only get it at 50% off.

I've been eyeing Mankind Divided and Rise of the Tomb Raider for a while now but I have so many other games to play that I don't think I'd bite for more than $15 or so. Shovel Knight isn't on sale at all either unless it just hasn't updated yet.

First world problems.

Montaro is -20% off. The bundlewear devs are mocking this sale.
Do you guys think it's a bug that no Warhammer Total War DLC is discounted?

No. Total Warhammer has been incredibly successful.

It might be a bug currently, but they have a history of not going on sale so it wouldn't be surprising.

What's the discount on Xanadu Next?

Koei Tecmo stuff still 50% off at best other than the One Piece game and Bladestorm. C'mon, put Toukiden cheap.

Wow, I am...gonna be buying like 30 indy games. A lot of stuff I had my eye on are 33-75% off which means almost all of them are below 10 bucks.

Okay, I will get Wolf.

Is Everspace from Steam the same as the Windows one? i.e. cross buy where I can play with Xbox people and install it on my box if I wanted?

Man... I'm close lol!

Bought tales from the borderlands to play with the kids over Xmas and might get firewatch as well.

I just saw on a banner that Stellaris is 60% off, but Steam is so wonky right now that I couldn't even get to the product page. Great deal though, I might finally take the plunge.

Is this going to become the Hidden Gems thread or is someone making a separate thread for that?

Discovered some really great cheap indie games last time round thanks to GAF.

It's -60% in my store, probably just slow to load. (Correction: Nova and Galaxy edition are -60%--regular is -33%. Weird.)

And yeah, great deal. I'd recommend it to anyone at that price.

Might finally bite on dying light. I think the full edition was 30 last time and the consoles were going for 20 which was annoying. I think it's 23 now, I'll pay 3 bucks for the superior version.

So is there a real difference between the Windows/Xbox version and Steam version? They are the same price

There's no difference in content. Only difference is that the Everspace Windows Store version is Play Anywhere while the Everspace Steam version isn't.

Does anyone else think Steam Sales seem to get lazier every year? There's Cards and a bit of art that doesn't even cover the whole background, and that's it. It's not even christmas themed art, it's to do with the Steam Awards thing.

is there any way to stop the store showing me VR content. I don't have VR and I'm not interested so It's annoying when I accidentally don't realise and a game sounds really interesting....and it's VR.
