What the heck was Elizabeth Berkley doing in between Saved by the Bell and Showgirls that required saving?

I remember seeing her in Showgirls and thinking 'man, haven't seen her in a bit'.

Ironic because say what you will about apatow it is one of her only legitimately good movie i can rememebr and her most critical acclaimed. How can you from complaining that that the character you play is stereotype but later on play nothing but stereotypes of the kind of characters
 
People actually saying something called Empire (I had never heard about it personally and I doubt a lot of people outside of the USA have) is bigger than Iron Man and Marvel lmao I've read it all now. Don Cheadle won here, stop with the embarrassing spinning.

He'd get the money for another Austin Powers movie within seconds. Okay, it's been 14 years, maybe not. Still, I doubt The Love Guru killed his career. It's just one shitty flop for an otherwise popular and successful actor.

He directed a small movie, which is apparently quite good.

But yeah, his Hollywood career is dead. Well, maybe they rehire him as Shrek, given that Comcast wants new entries.

Michael Richards and his standup footage that got out. Not on the rise but I've never seen him since.

There was an interview with her a couple years ago where she comes off as really bitter. Especially at the success of Scarlett Johansson.

Michael Richards was on a show with Rhea Perlman and Kirstie Alley. It died in one season.

Marvel is known to be quite stingy with the purse strings if you aint lead talent (and tries to lowball people even then), so it might not be as clear cut as one might think.

I'm not surprised to here that. She was tapped to be the next big thing, but her asshole father ruined it for her. It's sad that there are still showbiz kids that don't realize that their parents may not always have their best interests in mind when it's their name on the gravy train.

It's entirely possible that Terrance Howard gets paid more for a season of Empire (as the lead of the show) than Don Cheadle gets paid for any single Marvel movie he does. So yes, it's totally possible to consider Howard having come out on top.

That being said, Cheadle had his own TV show on Showtime for a few years in addition to all the Marvel stuff (House of Lies w/ Kristen Bell), so it's not like that's all he has going for him.

That to me sounded like a hostage crisis. She was under the domination of scientology and if she didnt "play nice" she or her kid could be in trouble for sacrilege or whatever. She got all her ducks in row and then bailed the fuck outta dodge.

I'd like another Austin Powers but I don't think this generation of young people would like it as much. At least not to the point that it'd be quoted ad nauseum. Plus Austin Powers lined up nicely with a return of late 60s fashion in the late 90s so it kinda of complimented the existing culture.

I'm worried it'd be like Zoolander 2 which kinda came and went without fanfare.

But you're right in that the movie would probably get made regardless.

Googled her and apparently she was in Colony's first season. Unfortunately for season two, her character will be replaced...lmao.

The Thora Birch and Scarlett Johansson drama is right up there. Really feel bad for Thora, because I feel like she would have done quite well as her acting skills are far better than Scarlett. A shame that her career went on a downward spiral because of her crazy father.

Ooooh, that's a good one. The wheels definitely came off for her with that stunt, though I think her unstable mental condition would have manifested itself in another way shortly thereafter.

She's been acting more and more, but it's been supporting roles in a lot of low-budget indie genre films. I was actually really surprised to see her get somewhat high billing in Bone Tomahawk, since her character amounts to little more than a cameo appearance.

Eh, she went from a starring role on Melrose Place to a starring role on Ally McBeal to a starring role on According to Jim to a recurring role on Two and a Half Men. She appeared on prime time tv constantly for more than 20 years and all of those shows aired all over the world, it seems like she made a string of really good decisions (minus the carrot top movie), she's not a A-list celebrity but she probably worked more consistently than 99% of all actors out there.

I've heard this too. Dana Carvey said he was tough to work with on the Wayne's World movies. He would go off if he thought someone else was getting too much camera time or something like that. Apparently he's burned a lot of bridges and not many want to work with him anymore.

It's a pity really. She was the best actress on grays anatomy which is indeed a shit show and wasn't wrong about sexist undertones in Knocked up. Hope she makes a comeback someday.

I feel like so much has happened in pop culture and technology in society over the 15-year period between Goldmember and now that a reboot or fourth Austin Powers film would have a bunch of material to work with.
