Horizon Zero Dawn | Cinematic Trailer

Ok David Harewood is the guy from Shadowfall and Infinite Warfare and Lance Reddick is the guy from Quantum Break and this game?

Wow, the modelling on her face is amazing.

This wooden ramp thing makes me really want a new MotoStorm built in this engine, why is that not happening? :(

I regret watching this, all those new areas would've been awesome and neat to see the first time. Also they stepped up their facial animation game up.

it's gotta be some kind of fetish.

(whether that will be the final boss or something else is still a question.)

That doesn't change anything I said...we have seen less then 1% of the game. How anyone can look at Horizon and say they lack imagination is beyond me, nothing else on the market like it.

I'm really liking the diversity in that trailer. It's especially great to see hair like that.

I hope they do a Lost Legacy / Left Behind kind of thing.

The content in the trailer was pretty good, but I'm reminded that GG doesn't really have good trailer editors.

The way they've set up the cinematic feel to the trailer isn't very good. Mediocre editing.

Looks good. I just REALLY want the side quests to be good. It's too much to expect something like Witcher/Skyrim, right?

Yeah, I hope this as well.

Cause even though defeating those giant robot creatures and upgrading stuff seems fun, I hope there's more to it in the side-quests.

I hope it feels more like Witcher 3 than Far Cry 3/4/Primal. Can't find a best way to express my fears.

They've already shown plenty of other animal/dinosaur inspired robots though. The one's that actually look like robots clock in at 2 with this trailer.

Not hard to be better then skyrim imo, overrated for my tastes. Witcher is hard to top for side quests.

I'm on media blackout for this one after PSX but can anyone tell me if they fixed the stupid unrealistic zip line animations yet? (She uses her bare hands, and somehow avoids rope burn).

I think that 'wooden ramp thing' is a stadium in ruins.

But yeah, a new Motorstorm would be insane.

Loved the character designs. Really outstanding.

Animation wise it's clear that they are using a more advanced form of dialog-tree-friendly/character-creation-compatible facial animation rig. It's not perfect animation (see Witcher, Bethesda games, any MMO) so it can't challenge small-cast-hand-tailored perfection like Uncharted 4 but it seems to be a step up from the RPG norm.

Horizon looks wonderful and it's making me invest in a 4K HDR screen this month
and Horizon 2 for PS5 will make me invest in a HDMI 2.1 OLED monster
.

It's definitely my biggest concern. I dont think they will deliver, but I have to hope they have meaningful side quests.

Storylines consisting of tribe on tribe plots, machine related plots both big and small, discovering secret caves, areas, mysteries, etc. I also hope for subtlety in discovering clues to the world Im in, and developing plots and mysteries of the world I am in, the tribes I meet, etc.

I just dont want something so basic as a handful of fetch quests. I guess the Far Cry example is best, but its exactly what I fear they will do.

Not hard to be better then skyrim imo, overrated for my tastes. Witcher is hard to top for side quests.

Skyrim may be overrated, but it has an undeniable world full of undeniably varied and interesting quests. And even if the caves get repetitive, they at least have a handful of neat secrets and areas to explore.

I hope Horizon manages that, and that it's not mostly a 2D world where you explore neat areas, but can't do much else like find secrets or stories within them. A big part of that is also talking to NPCs and I believe they mentioned something about tribes reacting to you differently? Curious how deep that is.

Thing is, this is a first entry, and all of that may not be the focus this time around. Which is fine, but it's what my excitement hopes for

I wouldn't say the facial animations have gotten better, these are cinematics and I always had little doubts about their quality. It's the animations during interactive conversations that always seemed clunky, let's see if they improved them. And even if they didn't, no big deal really.

Damn, 2 killzone easter eggs, the robot at the end and the same actor from K: shadow fall, maybe is the same world but far far ahead, like showing how the conflict ended everything?

To be fair, I don't think he's saying the game lacks imagination in general, just specifically that one type of robot design.

Looks great.

I'm glad there's a few more story elements being revealed. This trailer has put this on my potential day 1 radar.

Reminds me a lot of Enslaved.

That looked really good.
If i had a PS4 this would probably be my first purchase and first game to play.

Tho. animations looked "off" few times and i am not a fan of their, glossy, plastic looking faces. It just doesn't look natural. Everything else looked great.
