Yakuza 0 has the best scene of 2017

Great, now my coworkers are wondering why I'm snickering and holding in laughing like an idiot at lunch.

As of I needed more reasons to get this game.

Sega is gonna owe NeoGAF royalties for all the advertising we're doing for Yakuza 0 :lol

Great scene, though. Is that chicken getting paid 300k per year or per month? Because if it's per month then damn

Is Kiryu an actual hardnosed badass in this one? Towing the line between hero and villain?

Feels like every other Yakuza game has everyone talking about how awesome and threatening he was in his youth, and while he does kick ass, he comes across as kind of bland. Noble and good-natured almost to a fault(predictable), but he kicks good. It kind of soured my interest in the guy after the first three games. Every problem is solved by using his fists, just got so stale.

No disrespect but that's a weird thing to say. It's like criticizing a FPS game like Battlefield or CoD by saying that you fix all the problems by shooting at people. At its heart, Yakuza is a brawler so it makes sense for it to focus on its hand to hand combat. (during cutscenes and outside of them)

I tried getting into Yakuza with 4 two years ago, but the battle system and how chunky the game felt sometimes threw me off (I remember liking the first protagonists, though, even though I never ended up completing his chapter).

I think I will give the franchise another opportunity with Yakuza 0, everytime I see something from the game I get more interested.
Except battle gameplay. Seems like I just don't get what makes the battles fun

They're like Final Fight/Streets of Rage with super painful-looking finishing moves. I guess it all depends on if you were into classic Beat 'em Ups from the early 90's.

Infact the first game was sold to me as the return of Beat 'em Ups with RPG elements. A successor to River City Ransom.

On topic: I need a YouTube video of this so I can share it to my Facebook gaming group!

Not bad, never played a Yakuza game but that was pretty funny. Is this pretty common comedy in the series?

Yup. One of the side missions in Yakuza 3 and 4 is Kiryu helping a movie crew out. Part of the mission has you recite lines from a script and fighting enemies.
You can either read the script 100% correctly or fumble the dialog and say something ludicrious. This is just an example btw, but yeah expect some pretty funny dialog and scenes in the side missions.

Now that's a good ol' comedic Yakuza scene. My hype for this game only gets stronger with each day. This strengthened it a bit more.

A yen is pretty much a penny, so 300k Yen is about 3000$. That's probably per month, but this game is a prequel set in the 80s, so adjusted for inflation, I'd say that's a huge salary for a chicken.

I'm glad more people are getting into the series. Sega should really consider somehow porting or remaking 2 because that fight with the
tigers
is still freaking incredible.
Also, since Kiwami is coming out, more people will get to experience the majestic
GOLDEN BUILDING SURFACING FROM THE FREAKING FLOOR!

Not even per month, per collection period which is like 5 minutes
