I'm pretty much convinced that Campbell is the starter only because he's Davis' boy. Gradkowski is way better.

He's got a fucking really strong arm. Mediocre touch on his passes though (if I had a quarter for every time he over threw a simple HB/TE out pass) and holds on to the ball too long because he has trouble reading defenses, but he can chuck the fuck out of the ball. That's really all it takes to get Al's dick hard these days.

Yet he has a 3 yard average on his passes while Gradkowski has like 20+. :lol

And he just scored 2 TDs on his first 2 drives despite the fact that they kept dropping the ball and taking penalties. Campbell is fucking worthless.

Wait... what? I thought the the game didn't start until 9pm. I'm confused. Comcast says it's showing the game live in 55 minutes....
It's live on the local LA Raider affiliate. :P

Panther offense got it going a bit in the 2nd half, but couldn't get that damn TD. Our defense is going to be sick, held CJ to 10 yds on 8 carries and the Titans first team offense to something like 70 yds in 2.5 quarters. We also had 7 sacks tonight...I think we've had more sacks this preseason then we had all of last season :lol

FMT. That name... Jano...

Not much to be happy about tonight. Justin Tuck was the biggest highlight of the team. Rocky Bernard's play was solid and Corey Webster came away with a good performance (being the only competent CB on the field). Matt Dodge looks better every game but has a ways to go and Victor Cruz may suck on ST but that man has skillz as a wideout.

Outside of that, there's a lot of work to do. Wilkinson apparently left with a groin injury and Adrian Tracy had his arm in a sling. I don't know how this team gets so fucking banged up...
Not worrying. Courtney Brown will be off the team soon and Bruce Johnson should be relegated to the #4/#5 position. He isn't starting material right now. They do need guys like Aaron Ross and Terrell Thomas healthy. Bernard had a good showing, however. The DT rotation will be fun to watch, as will the DE's with Tuck and others. Getting their groove back is the first step needed.

Primary worry right now is how the KR/PR is handled.

I actually went to check that sacks stat I mentioned: we had 31 sacks (20.5 not counting Peppers) last year in 16 games. We have 18 in 3 preseason games right now...wow.

I agree, there's no reason to turn into chicken little after a preseason game when so many key guys were held out because of injury (against a legit SB contender no less). I really liked what I saw out of Tuck and Webster and Bradshaw looked great until the long drive stalled. Jonathan Goff sucked in coverage and Rolle has to match up better against tight ends given what the Giants have to contend with in the divison.

I do think Coughlin has to try to play the final game the way he did last year and keep the starters in there a bit longer, especially the offense. Eli needs more snaps and you could see he was dealing with rust. Also we need to get most of the o-line starters on the field at the same time, at least for another 3 to 4 series. It really hurt not having O'Hara in there at center, so many snaps were coming out low and it led directly to Eli's sack at the 2 yard line.

Forgot to mention lot of people on BBI are liking how Shawn Andrews played. We may see him start soon enough and move Seubert at the blocking TE position and a swing OG/C.

Sucks about Adrian Tracy's elbow. If it's serious he'll be placed on IR to get a further evaluation for next season. He wasn't going to get significant time this year, but I didn't think he would have been cut, necessarily. This is a chance for Gerris to get more time.

Bernard progressed this game, too. The DT's could really be good this season, finally, with Canty-Joseph-Bernard-Cofield.

Just watching the Niners' first quarter now: I really missed Frank Gore.

yeah gore would have gone for 150+ pretty easily on the raiders if he played the whole game, maybe even 200.

after every successful niners run the raiders play by play douchebags would say "but remember, richard seymour isn't in there!"

Frank Gore will average more combined yards per game than that scrub in Tennessee. Book it!

I still think Michael Turner will be the leading rusher.

I watched him pretty intently when he was in and he played extremely well considering he hasn't exactly learned all of the offense as of yet. The hits that Bhomar was taking weren't his fault. If he plays like that in the next pre-season game then I'll feel even better about the pickup.

I'm not ready to get all happy about Bernard as of yet, though I'm very glad to see him do his thing this game. Alford looked like shit though. He really needs to get it together. Linvals piggyback was hilarious:lol

Catching up on the SF-Oak game on the DVR. I heard Campbell got pulled, didn't realize he left on a cart.

Injury report doesn't sound too bad though.

the hit on campbell wasn't even that bad. piss poor blocking by whoever the LT is and then just a basic blindside hit.

anyhow, i'm kind of bummed about our performances in pre-season. alex smith has looked ok, our o-line has looked improved, our defense has looked off and on, but we have just had so many starters out i don't know what to expect now. gore, crabtree, davis, franklin, spencer, brooks has been out, etc etc.

real life isn't like madden where you just plug people in and they automatically play up to their abilities. i don't know WHAT was going on with our defense once gradkowski got in there. it was like our pass rush just packed it in and our secondary was very lazy. i know gradkowski isn't god awful but come we can't let 3rd and 15 conversions happen.

and god forbid alex smith gets hurt because david carr is the worst second string QB in this league. jesus christ it is painful to watch. on the plus side from this game our offensive line was VERY good against the pass rush. to my knowledge none of our qb's were sacked and the raiders sacked the bears like 8 times or something. westbrook also looked pretty good.

secondary is still a big concern even if we had some guys out

So I joined my friends fantasy football league. Completely new to this, and everyones saying take an RB with the first pick? How is an RB more valuable than a QB? I feel like with passing yards and TDs, it's worth a lot more than rushing yards and TDs, not to mention I feel like QBs are definitely at lower risk than RBs.
