Yes! Looks pretty snappy and clean and great!

I'm really fond of the 'controllers' section on the main menu. Makes it seem like this time the controllers will be handled by the OS and not from game to game.
Also great to see confirmed that you can create loads of profiles with changeable names for the console. Since it'll be my local MP main station, it's great to see that people can have their own profile and hopefully their own stats (looking at you steam).

Having an achievement system seems unnecessary at this point. I feel like the golden days of achievements have come and gone, I don't know anyone who still cares about those things. I'd rather them implement MyNintendo missions exactly how they've done for their mobile titles.

There is people in this thread prefering light theme. This is more disturbing than I imagined it would be.... cross over to the Dark side. It's nice and cozy there!

Yeah lol I was really hungry for those Halo 3 cheevos but sometime after that I just stopped.

UI looks fantastic. Very un-Nintendo. Very responsive.

Too bad there's still no achievement system. Why?!

At least in the XB1 UI that is under your profile. I'm not sure anymore where it is on PS4 though I'm fairly certain there's a trophy icon on the main home screen there.

Maybe it's going to be handled under your profile once you connect a mynintendo account to it. Fair point, though. We're all hoping that the missions extend to games.

It's weird how with every single console launch people are shocked to realize that 32GB as advertised - 32,000,000,000 bytes - is not the same thing as 32GB as represented in the actual OS (32 * 1024 * 1024 * 1024 == 34,359,738,368 bytes)

It's been like this for almost every device ever released on every platform, for decades.

The Switch, much like every other device on earth with an advertised 32GB capacity, has exactly 29.80GB storage space (32,000,000,000 / 1024 / 1024 / 1024)

If there are 25.9GB free, then it means 3.9GB are reserved for the operating system, built-in software, and reserved for future OS updates which may increase the storage footprint of the device.

That's...completely not unreasonable at all.

hiphoptherobot, could you at least take a screenshot of the entire library of gamerpics when you have a chance? I see that "More Options" and just want to know what's in there! :)

So no achievement?

Glad I didn't preorder the system. Horizon it is then.

Achievements vs a game? really?

It is pretty dn lame Nintendo still hasn't gotten achievements. Every other platform has them, from consoles, to Steam, to Battle.net

Won't prevent me from getting a Switch bit it's certainly disappointing

Those will probably be integrated game by game. Hopefully they have an easy interface or app for checking that stuff off

Shocked mainly because that's so damn confusing haha

Naming conventions are strange man.

I mean, it's a barebones OS - a base AOSP Android install plus GAPPS is little more than 1GB. I would probably expect a day one update to eat up a little more of that 25.9GB though.

Wish it showed all he user icons. I NEED to know if there's a Boo one.

The UI overall looks nice though. Really glad there's a dark theme.

Damn, dude better lay low after this. Retailer will get reemed. I'm guessing it's a smaller mom and pop type of store because there is no way a major retailer would let one slip out. Their registers wouldn't even process the transaction until launch date usually. Somebody would get fired over this shit. Hopefully Nintendo doesn't try to track you down claiming it's a stolen console or something. Shit just got real!

They may already be reserving space for future updates though in that amount. We know the pre-update size now though so easy to know when we get any info on an updated system.

As usual Light theme >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

I'm right there with ya bro.

I'd say it depends on the software (for designing for example, I prefer darker UIs), for more general user interface, yeah I find lighter themes more appealing.

Hopefully the eShop is working soon so we can get a sneak peak at that too...

But for now: Are there folders? Or options for creating some?
