What is your Switch travel case solution (if any)?

Is the hori supposed to take the grips like that? I have that case but I'd be happy to live without the grips (or just throw them in my bag separately) in return for a slimmer case protecting just the switch

Well, the Hori does have that bit extra headroom anyways - because the console sits in the bottom 'shell', yet needs some extra room for the analog sticks.
i suppose the PDP 'premium cases' would be slimmer, but they also seem way less sturdy / protective of the console. - especially with regards to corner impact.

The whole thing's only 4cm (1.5 inches) thick anyways. I don't feel like you could trim all that much thickness without sacrificing protective qualities :/

Still loving the BotW Sheikah slate case. It seems to be roomier than most cases, giving me just enough space to fit a powerbank in the accessories section, along with the joycon grips and a pair of headphones. Most cases seem to be going for the slim approach, but for long trips away from home, a powerbank is going to be an absolute must, and it'll be nice to store it with the console itself.

MAn, every good case is sold out and Amazon has a 1-2 month wait for them. Fucking annoying. I don't wanna use the Shiek case cuz I don't want something that grabs attention and I def don't want it getting all banged up and dirty in my bag.

I know gamestop stocks the PDP one. Others in here got the RDS case at Walmart and Target.

My Sheikah Slate Pouch holds everything I need. Can't be more happy about it.

It looks rather perfect.
Flap that covers the screen ✅
compartment for cables ✅
rad looks ✅

Seen some nice simple looking pouches on Amazon JP.

Shame they seem to be Japan exclusive so I'll have to import.

meh, i wouldn't trust these to protect the analog sticks, nor the screen really, all that well :/

Is there any decent case that lets you store the screen separated from the Joycons? I don't really want to keep the console all together when moving around. If there isn't, I'll just get the "tough pouch" one from Hori, it looks solid enough.

I got the Mario 'M' PDP one and my only problem with it is the Switch doesn't feel particularly snug, it feels like it could slide around a bit. That said, I can't hear it sliding around when I shut it so maybe it's okay.

Besides that it has plenty of space for accessories, like my power bank, which is something that a lot of cases don't seem to have.

I'm about to head to Best Buy in hopes of securing a charging cable for my Switch for a car trip tomorrow. What voltage USB-A to C should I be looking for? I have a 12V car adapter, so that power shouldn't be a problem: how much do I need for the cable itself?

Is there a version of the Sheikah Slate Pouch without the Zelda branding? That looks pretty serviceable but I'd just take a black or grey version.

I found a pencil case at the dollar store that is the perfect size. I kept the little foam thing inside that's used to prop it up. That serves as a screen protector now. It sits inside my overall briefcase so it's not really travelling and won't meant to protect it much.

I got the idea from when my mom did the same for my original GBC way back.

I'm not finding anywhere online to get the Nintendo brand one. I know it was sold out a month ago, but I would think it'd be the first item on Amazon when searching for a switch carrying case.

EDIT: Never mind. Found it on the Nintendo site.

So what's the "best" one for just the handheld mode?

Currently making do with the official case but it doesn't feel like it offers much protection outside of avoiding contact with things. Impact wise I doubt it'd do much.

If the RDS one actually comes in stock in the UK at the end of the month I'll probably switch to that one.
Sorry
.

Was around a Toys R Us yesterday so checked out the Switch section on a whim, picked up the Hori 24 game card case, $10. Decent enough, not sure I'm a huge fan of the double hinge design but it's not a big deal (...it's just that it could've been done with a single hinge and thinner if they tweaked the design).

In any case I'm fine with game storage for however long now. Just need a glass screen protector and maybe some simple sleeve I guess.

Wow. Just checked ebay, and the Sheikah Slate case is selling anywhere from $80 to $120. I hope someone releases a similar case for those who missed out on the SE...

It's actually cheaper at Walmart than Amazon by a buck-fifty or so.

Hori makes a car charger that is $19.99 MSRP, which will likely be the same price or cheaper then a USB-C cable. May as well get that instead.

To those with the blue Link case. Does it get dirty easily? That's the only thing stopping me from getting that. I found stock for it..

This is the exact same style of case just with a different exterior. Gamestop also has a few variations on it, a Mario one and then a Sheikah Eye one that I actually like the look of more than the SE case.

Gonna flip it so that the screen isn't facing the zippers. Vita still looks pristine so I'm not too worried.

yeah, as others have said, as opposed to the Vita, the plastic parts seem to have some kind of coating on them - which is even dissolved by dbrand vinyl skins.

I don't see why you'd be holding on to a case that is clearly not perfectly shaped to hold your console, has metal zippers on the inside, when decent cases that have no metal parts on the inside, fit your console snugly and have decent impact protection, can be had for less than 20 bucks.
We're talking about a 300 bucks console here. But you do you, i suppose.

I am stuck with the PDP case for now it seems. Best Buy and Gamestop are the only places that carry switch accessories and they are both out of everything except ac adapters until Easter.

I'll eat a Switch cartridge if that case manages to scratch it.

That's this case, right? I like the internal design but not all the bright Zelda designs on top and all the extra stuff they include, like the earbuds. Can you just get the case somewhere (and maybe in a more plain design)?

I don't think so. Pretty sure that its the one that came with the collectors edition. I have it too, its good.

Edit - ahhh research shows its the same interior. So basically its the same case.
