I'm also not surprised by the relatively large amount of YouTube stars who end up turning out to be shit people. I think there's something to YouTube stardom that attracts people who want to be notorious for something, but have some reasons why gaining other forms of entertainment notoriety is difficult for them.

Yep. From my experience living here for 11 years, oddly a lot of the time it's the people who grew up in the area that have seriously racist sentiments. Not always, but been enough times that I've noticed at this point.

And of course there's a lot of mega rich people with not the best moral compass in the city as well, so you run into some real life villains here and there. But that's why I tuck myself away in neighborhoods like Bushwick/Ridgewood.
