You reap what you sow. They all worked together at IGN, they knew what sort of person Greg was, the inflammatory nonsense he posts on Twitter and what sort of audience he would attract given a bigger presence but they started a business with him anyway when they should have seen this coming. Hopefully others learn from this; that some people are too toxic to do business with and by extension some people too toxic to have as patrons/viewers.
He got perma-banned from GAF for being a Gamergate apologist and acting like a victim when called out on it.

Greg and Tim seemed way more positive in today's ep. Optimistic for the future and not having Colin go off on a ten minute rant about some garbage.

He can just ignore his own toxicity portray everyone supporting him as shining beacons of light or whatever and this his detractors as haters (which I mean is exactly what he did on Glenn Beck's show) and then ride off into his new role as the next Youtube atheist Conservative political Commentator and bring all his fans over...

I think Colin's tweet was fine. Maybe a little tasteless (tho I don't even see it that way), but not nearly as bad as people made it out to be.

I'd maybe expect him to talk somewhat on the last PS I Love You show whenever that happens, I guess.
It was because he used the hashtag that was meant to show solidarity for women on international women's day, effectively mocking them. Nobody was outraged and foaming at the mouth, people just said "whoa man, that's kind of a shitty tweet" and he called them all humorless sacks of shit.
Edit: using that hashtag for that joke is kind of like going to a women's day protest and yelling "good grief ladies, enough with the nagging! Lol"
And then when everyone goes "what the hell dude?" He says " what you don't like jokes?"
Hmm. I guess. Like someone I know mentioned... I think some people treat hashtags as this sacred thing.. but it's just this made up thing people came up with. Outside of twitter, no one would have any idea what people were protesting about. To my knowledge, it's not like an official holiday or anything. I never heard of it until this Colin debacle.
I can understand how that could be construed as mocking, but I don't believe that was Colin's intention. I think he was just trying to make a joke, which was admittedly dumb.
Calling people sacks of shit was a bit overboard, however.

Where's the tantrum? Colin's the only one who had a tantrum. That and his defense force, like that guy who tweeted at one of the posters in this thread like 100 times in defense of Colin.
This is not true. A Day Without A Woman was the slogan used for this years international womans day. It was wide spread accross all social media and TV and websites etc.
It wasn't just a random hashtag for a few small groups of protestors.
It was all over the news at least a week ahead. You not hearing of something does not mean the rest of the world is ignorant.

That's why I don't talk about it on GAF. People just laugh at you and troll. The only positive libertarianism GAF had was when Gaborn was still around, at least from what I've seen in my time here.
From my brief exposure of Colin's material, he strikes me as more libertarian that say, Gary Johnson. But that's not trying too hard I suppose.
As for libertarian extremists, I think we've mostly moved onto ancap, (though I've been seeing the alt-right try and take over there). This is probably due to the fact the party has been shifting more and more conservative with each passing year for the sake of being palatable.

Because the argument is ridiculous. It had nothing to do with where the author came from. Horizon is literally the most forward thinking game in the last decade, and he's right to criticize the author.
Even Greg agrees! He says later on 'Are we really gonna pick on one word?'. So is Greg a cunt too? No because he's on the left. As for Colin, let's blindly attack him. Did you even listen to the podcast?

The point is that Colin had heard about it and knew what it was about, and decided to try and provoke women to make some frivolous point about people getting upset about shitty behavior.

Greg doesn't go on a rant talking about having civil discussions and listening to other people respectfully. Colin does that and then whenever he is faced with an opposing thought he is constantly disrespectful.
He kept on his rant and extrapolated it to a ridiculous argument that was not related. Colin saw that article as an attempt to attack "PC culture" and "outrage culture" where in reality it was just a bad article that had shallow understanding of the game.

Such a shame to hear, I used to really like boogie but i started to find that he would always pick the middle side when talking about controversies with other people. Likely half wanting to be understanding and half scared to take a side and get hate and it really felt like handwaving away serious issues.

It's the same mechanism that bullies, oppressors, and wife-beaters do: lash out and oppress and then turn around and act like a victim that requires the empathy from the abused. It's a double action that on one hand abuses the victim and on the other hand exploits the empathy in the victim. You literally lose your mind and sense of reality when dealing with such people if you are constantly under their abuse.
The bolded is patently untrue. I have listened to every podcast he's been on for 8-9 years.
And the article is directly linked to PC/outrage. How can you not understand where someone can draw the line between the two? Even the Guerilla Games dev said something along the lines of 'some people will always be offended'.
Colin, the developer, and Greg basically all agree but Colin is the only one people are picking on as some kind of bigot. If you believe he was wrong to connect the article to outrage culture, that's fine. But how does that make Colin some kind of bad person? It's a disagreement you have with him, and nothing more.

Colin raged on about how this is outrage culture. Do you know what outrage is? It's not one article being written that receives push back from nearly everyone that reads it. Colin has repeatedly been criticized as being arrogant, condescending, and disrespectful only to play the victim afterward. If you want to ignore this fact then you can but don't pretend as if people incorrectly characterizing Colin.

Just because a game is progressive doesn't make it immune to criticism. The author of the piece has every right to critique the game. You can discuss and disagree with that point, but being dismissive of it is just shitty. Greg's attitude towards it was also shitty, but it wasn't on the same level as Colin's

My 2 cents is he just does is own talk into the camera 1 man show on politics. Or gaming. Or both.
If it gets a crumb of success, funding a 1 man show isn't anywhere near as costly as a group. Look at any metrics for successful 1 person shows, it's very lucrative and the running costs are very low.
It's the YT dream. Whether or not Colin can work without Greg and Co remains to be seen, but at least some of his audience is clearly primed to follow him anywhere right now. Jim Sterling has his own website for written content, and produces his own videos for video content. Works well for him. Patreon figures ain't shabby either. More than an average paying job.
I'll be surprised if Colin stays in gaming, though.

Ugh, such a shame. I'm pretty damn leftist, and I will vehemently defend other people's right to have different viewpoints than me, but people like Colin need to stop playing the victim. It undercuts everything else.
