No disrespect to Grant, who is a great composer, but I'm just not feeling the music here. It's fine, but feels like background audio that doesn't really add much.
I've got my Xbone code but seeing footage of that horrid casino level put me off playing the game. I don't think I'll ever play it now to be honest.
I'm curious about this too. I wonder if it's a preorder code.
I'll let you know in a sec. Im almost finished with the download
UPDATE: Not playable. Preload only.
No PS4 codes yet?
Digital Game Rewards for Steam, GOG and Xbox One will be sent out this week so that backers on those platforms can pre-load the game in time for release day. PS4 codes will be dispatched and immediately playable on Monday, April 10 in time for Yooka-Laylees first worldwide release in Australia and New Zealand.
Just got my backer steam key!
Oh hey there.
Funny thing is that it's not even a backer copy, I backed for PC. So much for early birds!
Can't help it if mom n pops break strert date (which I assume this is?)
So what's GAF's impressions of this so far? It's been getting some negative press, many reviews claiming this game to be overly reliant on nostalgia and not very innovative, but to me that's not exactly a bad thing. Some say the former is a problem in addition to dodgy mechanics, level design, and performance issues. However, after playing Breath of the Wild for hours, at the very least the lattermost issue would not be a problem
So what's the deal!? I want this, but I'm not chucking $40 at it if it's merely 'okay.'
Sorry, but an unexpected error has occurred. The error has been recorded and we will investigate. Please try to redeem your code later.
Having played through the tutorial and a bunch of the first world... yeah, this is Banjo alright. The first world is definitely more Tooie with a touch of N&B than Kazooie for what it's worth, but YL's increased speed both walking and rolling reduces the downtime between landmarks quite a bit. As for performance, it's actually good? The PS4 version at least seems to run at a solid 30fps for the most part and it feels very similar to the XBLA ports in that sense, but of course it's still the first world and maybe the problems come later.
So far it's pretty much what I expected and wanted, so I'm happy. Hopefully the rest of the game keeps it up.
Are you playing the updated version with the patch installed?Having played through the tutorial and a bunch of the first world... yeah, this is Banjo alright. In which way do you see N&B in there? I hope we are not required to Lego, right :/?

So no Toybox preorder bonus for backers on Xbox ? Guess I will pass on Kickstarter next time![]()
Thanks for clarifying!
Regarding Toybox: You get Toybox access if you have the physical copy ordered, otherwise you don't, with Kickstarter. But either way you get the free DLC which should be preferrable over Toybox.
I'm actually surprised at the amount of (light) platforming there is. It's no Mario Galaxy for sure, but you jump around quite a bit, especially if you go for the feathers as some of them seem to actually require abusing the level geometry to reach.
what is the DLC?? am i missing out frmo just buying digital?
