Nintendo Direct on April 12 (3PM PT, Switch/3DS, mainly Splarms)

I'm not sure about themes in this Direct but they're coming for sure. It's weird having a "themes" option in the settings and only being able to switch between white and black.

I have spent horrific amount of money on Pokémon themes (for my site, honest :P). I look forward to doing the same for Switch

Here's the obligatory timer post for this page.

This needs to be in every OP of these threads.

Charts concerning Direct's length :

Less than 30 minutes : zero hype, only trash
30 to 35 minutes : normal hype, expectations are moderate
35 to 40 minutes : hype starting to burst, wild expectations are appearing
40 to 45 minutes : hype through the roof, Metroid and F-Zero are now confirmed
45 minutes + : WE'RE ON THE MOON

Normally Directs have always been in the ~45 minutes length, and even then, some of them were quite underwhelming. Length means nothing when they spend 5-10 minutes on a single game (which they probably will on Arms and Splatoon 2).

Are there any notable 3DS games left to be localized?

Probably too soon to hear about Strange Journey/Radiant Historia ports.
Maybe Yokai Watch 3?

Will this finally be the Direct Reggie finally gets Elite Beat Agents 2 on the docket?

No, it won't, but I'm just hyped to see E-Sports juggernaut ARMS show its stuff

Alternatively: hype based on first segment:

ARMS: Meh.

Splatoon: HAH KNEW IT WOULD BE BEFORE AUGUST

BOTW: LEAK CONFRIMED!2!1!1!1!1

Anything else: I'm burning my Switch.

*Disclaimer: these do not represent my feelings*

The Indie direct recently was received well an that was under 20 minutes. The recent Fire Emblem direct was the same too. People shouldn't splooge their pants even if the direct is confirmed to be a long one.

They will anyway LOL

Does anyone know the origin of this image? Was it Way Forward? I would adore a Virtual Boy Wario Land remake (or just a Virtual Boy Virtual Console)

Time to get hyped!

- Metroid Prime 4
- F-Zero SEX
- Waverace 128

40 minutes on new yarn yoshis for Yoshi & Poochy & Birdo's wooly world, coming to Sitch this fall

This is like if Nintendo, Sony and MS all pooled their resources to make the most bonkers E3 of all time

T Minus one hour

I think what bothers me the most about 3DS support is the lack of the software also being made available on switch

While I dont have some blanket statement that they were going to abruptly end 3DS development (yes sorry i know that wasnt on the table even though it became the reality for WiiU) they DID go on to talk about unified development going forward

To see a cross gen port mentioned from an unconfirmed leak going backwards bums me out

The trend I would like to see is accessibility to Nintendo software going forward on the news system and I DO have a source for that http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showthread.php?t=1171059

This continued walled 3DS garden is endlessly frustrating even if the system still sells

arms and splatoon 2 are both two games I am looking forward too, I am not expecting anything else, especially not heavier stock (like an hypotethical metroid or something like) that will probably be shown at E3

I just came into this thread and saw this image.

I'm glad we're all keeping our expectations in check. /s

They're going to talk about Arms. They're going to talk about Splatoon 2. They're going to talk about a couple 3DS games. That's basically it. You might get a surprise but if so, I doubt it's anything huge.

If you're honestly expecting anything different than that, it's your fault if you feel disappointed (about the lack of VC, Pikmin, Metroid, etc) after it's over.
