Marvel vs Capcom: Infinite gameplay

Game looks like a mobile game and step back from 3 and that's fucking annoying as shit

BUT I like the idea of a combo breaker for 2 meters (TvC is the GOAT versus)

tho wtf is going on - it calls in the other member but the combo is still happening??

Exactly that. Which, like I said earlier, means you could potentially happy birthday yourself if you fuck up.

Gameplay seems fine, bit slow. What a boring and bland art style, though. HUD and characters both look like placeholders, but I fear they won't be.

Looking at the Counter Switch system and things become really interesting. It looks like the opponent can still combo the person who's doing the counter, and that you need to control the other character and essentially "save" them from being combo'd.

That's incredibly fascinating because if setups exist, it looks like it could be a huge risk, and in some parts that reminds me a little bit of Killer Instinct's counter breakers. It's a very "Marvel" way of implementing a combo breaker mechanic while still encouraging Marvel's breakneck momentum.

EDIT: nvm guess I'm late on the pickup on that lol

While I'm all in on marvel fighters and characters... this game is visually ugly. The hud, character models, effects, movement and more. It really is a lot of the things others noted.

I got hope for it but I'm not gonna lie to myself or instant reactions. I will wait and see though, hopefully they pull out better textures and animations throughout its runup to release like Injustice 2 has been doing.

Honestly if the game looks like this i'm happy.

Waiting for that uncompressed gamersyde gameplay videos. Save us Blim.

you're kidding yourself if you believe the game would need to be 1v1 to look better. you genuinely believe this looks a generation better than MvC3? are you serious?

Would it need to be 1v1? No. Clearly budget and manpower are key factors, if you compare to T7 and IJ2. But it wouldn't hurt, at least. I believe this game wouldn't look like this on last gen consoles. Better is subjective. It has a different aesthetic than MvC3, by which the latter looks better in many respects.

This thread looks a lot like Street Fighter V pre release threads "this game looks like an upscaled version of the previous one" "it's not even a generational leap". The game looks mostly great and I'm sure UI and other polish will help a ton for the final product.

Gameplay looks much slower than previous marvel and graphics looks super bland. Looks super Budget. If this is a spetember game then it doesn't have that long left before coming out. I wish them luck and I hope it turns out well.

Capcom simply forgot how to make visual appealing fighting games. Bad animations, bad artstyle, bad UI.

And this progressive decline is more evident now they remastered MvC3: it's a 6 years old game and it looks better than this Infinite.
A lot better.

Looks alright, but nothing special. Probably because we've seen everyone in that footage (except Ultron).

I loved MvC3 so I'll definitely pick this up when it comes out.

The game speed is pretty much note-for-note Marvel 3 speed.

i think i misinterpreted your comment, sorry >_>;

As someone that didn't play a lot of 4 I thought 5 looked very different when it was revealed.

As someone that's played too fucking much of Marvel 3 I can say its looking similar to me. More similar than I would have liked. The reused animations are obvious to me

Gunslinger confirmed to be back on his bullshit again

Holy shit guys. Keits just posted an amazing theory on twitter.

What if bodys of KO'd characters stay on the ground because one of the stones (soul gem) can fuckinng bring them back?

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHH

We haven't seen anyone with Marvel 3 air dash speeds, though. Ultron's tridash is more like MvC3 Iron Man speed than Magneto or Doom. Hopefully the game has a good aggressive tridasher for that kind of player.

:O :O

I will be pissed if they keep that ugly chromatic aberration filter. It washes out the colors and gives it that weird hazy blurry/de-colored look. Marvel visuals should look crisp with colors that pop.

It usually doesn't bother me, but starting that video and hearing Hawkeye's VA was quite unpleasant.

And obvious, but the combo breaker thing is up there with no assists as terrible decisions. And at least the assists thing is somewhat supplemented by the tag cancelling and the infinity gem system. There is few things worse than combo breakers in games like these. Should cost 4 bars if it's even there. GARBAGE.

But I still don't know what's going on in that counter switch, since it seems like Thor's character just teleports and is being dragged back forward again? (RE: rmanthorp's GIF).

Prepare the riots.

Better get used to it, i don't think they will change that.

Lol, could you imagine?

If that is the case though, I wonder how they'd balance that. You can only revive a partner if you have full infinity gem meter? Harsher damage scaling on the revived character?

Wow...um, I hadn't been paying attention that this game was in development, and when I first saw the footage, I thought this was an iPhone/Android game.

Color me unimpressed with the art. Roster and gameplay can more than make up for bland visuals...but even as a dirty, dirty scrub casual (onset casual due to life, unfortunately), something seems "off" about this game. But, they still have months to go, so I'm sure Capcom will get it figured out.

And don't get me wrong--I'll still planning to pick this up, but I'm currently more excited for the Infinity Special Edition tchotchkies and statues than I am the actual game at this point. :)

Or maybe the game has item microtransactions

10 Phoenix Downs only $3.99

In KoFXIV, it was incredibly inoptimal as doing a combo yourself ALWAYS lead to better damage.

I imagine the exact same situation here.

yes, this is exactly what it seems to be the case... Hulk gets the auto combo ABC option, and Thor on the other hand shows airdash in combo stuff to have a longer chain

The graphics look really poor. Especially compared to mvc3. Not gonna compare it with injustice 2 as it goes for a different art direction.

Sounds like Thor's voice was also changed. He now sounds like he's voiced by Travis Willingham (from Avengers Assemble).

If people really cared about high poly counts that much then Tekken 7 would get more than 2 pages worth of responses whenever a topic comes up.

I wanna see some more X gameplay that's not from the official trailer. We gotta go down his movelist and see what weapons he's gained from bosses and such.

In Skullgirls one of the characters can bring back a dead character, it takes five full bars. The character revives with 33% of their health.

Is there any evidence using two bars of the Infinity Meter does anything different from one bar or is it just a length difference?

Don't know if there's enough evidence in the video to reliably compare.
