TEKKEN 7 releases June 2nd (PC/XB1/PS4, Season Pass, Eliza, more details)

Did a count and compared with Kazuya. He's got about 24 unique items of 301 total. I didn't count Effects or Auras because those weren't unique in previous games (namely Tekken 6), so I wouldn't expect it. The unique item count includes recolors, his default costume, and his old defaults from Tekken 6 and Tag 2.

8% of his items are unique. That number goes down if we include hit sparks, auras, and strip out recolors. And this is a main character. One who had some of the most robust options in Tekken 6.

What a bummer. My guess is the weird bodies like Gigas, Kuma, and Yoshimitsu will end up with the most unique items.

I can at least kind of understand why customization might not have been as good in Tag 2. They pushed the game out much faster than Tekken 6, they had almost 20 more characters to manage, and they had to get 4 fighters on screen at once (and in game, ready to switch in and out), all while working with the same limited memory.

But with Tekken 7, they've been taking even longer to finish the game than Tekken 6, with fewer characters to make items for, in only 1v1 fights (only two characters need to be loaded), and on considerably more powerful hardware.

So what the hell?
And after all this time too....I don't understand. Jin and Lili in Tekken 6 had a SHIT ton of unique stuff. And none of it looked like they were wearing 8 layers of clothing underneath their shirts and pants.

Also, I bet none of that dlc is the hairstyles that were in tekken tag 2.

all regular Sony Dualshock controllers are great for Tekken. Four face buttons and a good Dpad.

For Streetfighter a six face button controller would be best, so any of those Hori Fighting pad's for example.

I'm looking to play just Tekken, I had some streetfighter branded fightpad for TTT2 on xbox360.

Do regular wired ps4 -controllers work on PC by just plugging them in? What about 3rd party manufacturers who make fight pads, is there any consensus about their quality?

yeah, even bluetooth works. 90% of all 3rd party pads are terrible :D

Some do, some that I remember off the top of my head that were plug and play with a ps4 remote and even displayed ps4 button icons are the Witcher 3, MKX, and MGS5.

hey guys, I'm really excited about this but haven't been following the smaller details.

So, can someone tell me, does Tekken 7 have a nice comprehensive tutorial? Been a long time since I played a 3D fighter and Tekken tends to have huge move lists, so a tutorial helping me with basic links and combos would be great.

Ie is the tutorial Guilty gear good, or SFV bad?

No separate tutorial from what I can tell. It looks like they try to teach some stuff through the story mode but I don't think it's very in-depth.

Practice mode has some sample combos, but you're probably going to want to look up videos for optimal stuff.

That's really disappointing. After playing Guilty gear and seeing what Killer instinct has to offer, feel like fighting games have a duty to up their tutorial game.

over 50 micro bikins? whoa...

Each female character has 2 sets of the bikinis and the males all have Heihachi's T4 loincloth outfit. All together that's more than 50 outfits.

But again I'm speculating... I could be wrong and the 50 dlc outfits are brand new stuff. I just don't see that happening.

This will probably be my first Tekken purchase since Tekken 4. Gonna be interesting to go back into tekken after having only really played 2d fighters since then

I agree with this, in this day and age I find it ridiculous that people new to the game have to scour internet to find out how to play the game on deeper level.

IMO the game should have tutorials that explain every mechanic that exists in game and show frame data numbers of moves.

edit: here is older tutorial for Tekken 6, it should still apply to T7 on most parts

I'm so hyped for this. I hope NYC gets the team urley copies soon.

It looks like Nina has some of her DBD outfits in the customization too? Or is it just me?

Thanks for this. But yeah, it sucks that I have to spend so much time out of the game learning to play in it. Fighting games are already one of, if not THE hardest genre to get into and every one of them plays differently. It's not even high level stuff but the absolute basics.

Killer instinct seems to have a really comprehensive suite of tutorials and ghost options and stuff to help teach people and make people better.

That slo-mo is awful.

I've been probably the harshest critic of Tekken 7 on this forum and the slow-mo is easily the coolest feature the game does which the previous games don't.

The only times where it will look dumb is when you encounter the stupid crushing moves in the game. Moves like Claudio's genocide cutter or Bob's backswing blow which would really show the game in negative light during a slow mo since their limbs don't have hurtboxes despite being hit. But the benefits of the slow mo far outweigh the few times those negatives will come.

that gif certainly subverts the watcher's expectations

The soundtrack is one of my favorites in the series.

The stages are great too, especially the underground fight arena (where you can accidentally knock out spectators).

The nights we've spent with this game. It might've been our most played Tekken after 3. The game felt sort of slow and weird because of the SC movement paired with Tekken's short ranges. But Tekken 4 was lots of fun in multiplayer.

It was graphically amazing, great stage design, music and color. Though I would compare everything to DoA3 at the time, that game looked ridiculously good.

Tekken 7 music isn't my jam unfortunately. And yes, the female roster seems so lackluster for some reason. Where's Zafina, Anna, Julia? Those were interesting characters... but Lucky Chloe, Josie who just stole Bruce irvins move sets with a worse personality, Katarina who is basically Christie remade, Kazumi is purty kool though. Master Raven is well, female raven.

How is Katarina at all like Christie?????

Katarina is actually my favorite new female character and I feel like she's not getting enough love from fans. I love her design and her moveset looks very fluid. She will def be one of my mains unless I end up not liking her moveset, probably will like it a lot though.

Its looking great... but please tell me that i can play single player w/o the CPU opponents wearing stupid shit (unlockable hats and shit).

She's the least shittiest newcomer, barring Joise and Master Raven who have other character's moves, she's the only newcomer that does a martial art.

I'll be picking her up mostly because none of my female mains have been announced yet.

I don't hate her, she's just so boring design wise. Also same but luckily I main xiaoyu on the side. Didn't expect all my mains not to make it :(
