Patty Jenkins has stated that she's going for a lighter tone akin to Donner's Superman. I think the film will need that to balance some the more serious subject matter it's dealing with.

I love the OST in this scene. The more I repeat it the more I love the birds-eye view of Diana deflecting the bullets, not to mention Chris's reaction to catching the first bullet.

Yea I liked the little bit of score we hear here too. I loved her glasses flying off when she turns her head. Also, the guy landing on his hat after Pine punches him. It's the little things in action scenes that make all the difference.

Earlier comic book movies? All Marvel movies do the same thing. Minimum three quips per scene.

I'm also glad with the tone of this scene. All comic book movies should have this same exact tone.

If they're going to go full Donner, there has to be a scene where Diana and Steve fly in the invisible jet and we get to hear Steve's inner thoughts wondering about whether Diana likes him or not.

According to many on Gaf, that would be a good thing. As a student of film though I must disagree. It has much better cinematography and blocking compared to anything I've seen in The Flash, Arrow or Supergirl.
