No, there's only Thanos and Ultron, with Venom being locked to DLC. No Juggernaut, Apocalypse, Magneto, Dr. Doom... Eventhough I'm really mot interested in fighters, I think it would be fun to play as something like Abyss and Holocaust. Hell, Shaw could be interesting considering his powers.

Let's unpack this whole debate:

I say roster size in MvC2 was mostly dead space, for how often most of those characters were played. You counter by saying that not everyone is competitive. I point out that in an online environment, even a game purchased by many casual fans has limited character .
representation in it's first weeks. You point out that some fans just want to play "Wolvie vs Ryu", and I say those people aren't as relevant. You wonder why they wouldn't want your sixty bucks?

They want you to buy the game, but they aren't designing the game around appealing to you because your sixty bucks are up against the two-hundred plus they'll generate from people like me.

I'm not happy with the roster diversity, but I don't think an extra 30 unplayable characters is worth anything.

Everything you've said is nothing but baseless conjecture. And I don't know why I have to keep repeating this. Roster and balance are two completely different things. Do you hear anybody talking about balance here? No, the talknis about roster and characters that they want to see. There is nothing inherit to the MvC2 roster could not have been balanced.

Fair enough esp. With what marvel villains were in previous games
But capcom rarely ever has many of its villains in these crossovers, like in mvc2, they had only what 3 or so villains on their side?
Marvel 3 was the first time they had more but then again it was also a handful

If you think Marvel 2 could have been balanced, you know nothing of Marvel 2.
 
Kind of "too safe" picks from both sides.....heres hoping they pull characters fromlesser known games and comics like Tessa for DLC.

Glad Jedah is making it though, thats if this rumor is true though.....
 
Y'know, I expected there to be at least 32 characters, then with the DLC there'd be 38, which would be the same as MvC3 w/ DLC. I didn't expect them to go even lower than that. We should have had Black Panther, Ms. Marvel, Wesker and maybe Juri. No Black Panter especially is a disgrace. He's probably DLC. While I love my boy Nova, he should have sat this one out in favor of BP.

At least the roster is still better than MvC2, though that's not saying much.
 
I'm glad for Jedah fans that he's in the game too, but still in the grand scheme of the other characters he's really random. Why add him out of all the other cool Capcom characters? We need more characters like Jedah, basically ones we wouldn't expect. Even MvC3 had a lot of characters we never could have guessed before they were announced.

Chris works in a ridiculous out of place way, thats what particularly makes him interesting to the this roster imo.

The other interesting characters on Capcom's side are pretty much base requirements.
 
Now that Monster Hunter is no longer off-limits for crossovers, I imagine it's only a matter of time until we get one in Smash Bros

i would have preferred demitri.. midnight bliss has a lot of potentioal.... was he ever in MVc?
 
Also just saw that Venom is DLC. So I guess my team will most likely be Dante/Venom (which I'm pretty happy about I guess...)

Sorry Marvel, X-Men IS MvC. With a series that started as an evolution of X-Men vs. Street Fighter, and its lineage can be traced even further back to Children of the Atom, not having X-Men crosses a line for me.
 
If true, I wonder how much model reuse and animation will be in the game from UMvC3? It feels like some of the choices were to keep models/animation across Unreal Engine games. The bolded are characters from UMvC3.

My guess is Captain Marvel probably uses Storm or Phoenix' animations and Ultron is Doctor Doom? Haven't been keeping up with the footage. Further speculation, Gamora using Jill Valentine's stuff.
 
Ultron is nothing like Doctor Doom going from the gameplay footage that has been shown. He is a character that calls assist robots in almost like Sentinel but completely different.

I don't want them to re-use the Fox characters' animations. Leave them be.

There is hope that the Fox characters (who are without a doubt the most fun to play out of the Marvel 3 roster) might show up in the future in Infinite. I am afraid them re-using too much animations and gameplay characteristics of those characters will impact their possible presence in the game.
 
What the fuck is this roster?

Talk about a hype killer. I was at least expecting Phoenix Wright and Amaterasu to come back, but even they're left out?!

This roster has no one for me. I'm going to pick up Tekken 7 to fill my fighting game needs.

I could be wrong, but i saw Ultron using some Iron Man animations, i.e. the Repulsor Blaster animation.
 
Kinda boring roster if true. Squirrel Girl needs to be DLC and get some variation of Wolverine's moveset. And I wonder what set/weapon the Monster Hunter character sports, Rathalos + Great Sword ?
 
Grim looking list if true, now I'm remembered of how much I'm missing Cyclops, Wolverine, Spider Man, Ibuki, Cammy and so many more...
Hopefully they get added down the road, Capcom is milking fighting games a bit too much (not that this all is on them, but think SF5).

Spider-man is in because he's also in the MCU.

Spider-Man's on the list, dude. Also, Ibuki was never in an MvC game, and the lack of Cyclops & Wolverine is purely Marvel's fault.
 
really feel like the lack of x-men is going to hurt this game for many.

just like the lack of single player content in SFV. it sticks out like a sore thumb and will be brought up by every review, if you haven't already noticed by looking at the box/following the marketing of the game.
