If they reveal some dates for some smaller games maybe even this week before E3, hopefully we'll get a date for that game, Hob. Just saw the trailer in the old thread from back in April.

That entire article is terrible filled with misinformed trash. The financial report about KH3 had a list of games and they said all of these games are planning on being released in the next three years or so. They included vii remake and the marvel game so only one of these giant games are going to come out each year so it could still be 2018 although I wouldn't be surprised at all by 2019. They certainly never said it wouldn't be out until 2020 though so there's no reason for it to not be at e3. Although I don't think it will be at e3 really and they're just going to show a trailer at the concert on Friday.

To me, there are very few big Japanese games that could be announced on Sony's stage. Monster Hunter and Devil May Cry are fairly big IPs. If widely considered "smaller" IPs like Nier and Persona never took the stage at Sony's E3, I can't think of anything but the biggest Japanese IPs being the applicable here.
Monster Hunter would be amazing. Because we'll still be getting DMC by TGS.

I think we'll get both this year.
I don't know why but I feel Horizon Zero Dawn's DLC will be the opener. It doesn't make sense but it's epic fantastical setting with a live orchestra would be an ideal way to kick-off proceedings.

Haha true. He was an amazing person. A typical business man but also someone who knew what the fans wanted and it showed in the way he was on stage.
I dunno. He always seemed so calm when he spoke. His last year was funny. I remember someone doing a joke report on him being in a pink dressing gown and slippers in his front garden the day of the Sony E3. I could actually imagine him doing that.
True but sales data is always reassuring to the fans. Layden is doing a fantastic job though I agree. He seems like a genuinely down to earth person.

I've never played a Souls game and BB is one of my favorite games of all time.
I think BB differentiates itself enough.
Souls games have bored me and were too slow for me. BB sped up mechanics and made it enjoyable for me
Of and the setting was more my kind than fantasy/medieval

If it plays PS4 games, it'd be incredible
In order to play PS4 games it would be big, expensive and have a short battery life.
And in 2 years when ps5 launches there would be compromised games in favor of having to support the still recent hardware launched or major outcry again because sony isn´t supporting such platform after just a couple years.
The only way to do it would be slowly lag behind in power in the console space like nintendo did. Even then they get a pass because they do more cartoonish games.
I hope sony never does a handheld again.

Only if Capcom expects a new MH to sell like shit in Japan. The only real competition for DMC being whatever Capcom has planned for their other big title this year are RE2 Remake or Revelations 3.
