You could just use logic. This is about the same as people thinking Borderlands 3 would be exclusive, not happening. Apparently publishers like money.

Or you could read my comment again. I don't care if the game is exclusive or not. All I asked is how do we know he actually works at Bioware? cos he says so? Do you think we should start believing anyone who claims to be an insider or a dev?

RAM prices a year later are cheaper. Sony themselves have been driving the price of GDDR5 RAM down for 4 years. The 4K drives have already been shown to be barely more expensive than a standard drive. Again, the One S has been driving the price of that down for a year.

The "higher clocked" parts are still ultimately similar part to the Pro.

It's going to be $399 or less. Microsoft has been playing this one beautifully actually having people believe it's going to be higher.

Scorpio has 4GB more RAM than Pro though. I'm hoping for $399 and if they pull that off they will definitely impress and surprise some folks. Fingers crossed!

OK, well, we will see! That would be fantastic if you were right.

Unless you got some insider doing some splinter cell type work collecting internal documents for you, I wouldn't be so sure. Not saying your wrong, cause I'd love for it to be 399.99 but mmmm we will see.

DON't expect anything below 399.99 though...lol, it's not gonna be cheaper than that.

!!! MATT KNOWS!!

The cost of Scorpio was in the R&D. Not the manufacture. It's going to be $399 or less.

More RAM, a more advanced cooling system, higher clocked parts, a 4K drive, all of these things add up, even a year later.

Whatever the final price is, it costs a fair bit more to build than the Pro did.

This is really important to iterate to fanboys who dont seem to get this.

He's spilled the beans:

"Spilling the beans" on Anthem after it's been announced to be at MS doesn't tell me he knows the event inside out.

I have an issue with him often coming into threads making obscure comments without making a concrete claim. This leads to people derailing Xbox threads all the time, and he can't be called out on it if proved wrong. Because he can't be proven wrong due to how obscure his comments are.

RAM prices have been going up like crazy recently. i think due to a silicone shortage but i couldbe wrong. im not wrong about prices going up though

I will go with $449 / £399. They haven't got a prayer in the UK if the price starts with a 4.

They haven't got a prayer at just a console with £399.99 it needs to come with a game for that price.

To be honest consumers want the best value for money to play the multiplatform games on. Which anything sub £399.99 gets them.

Someone earlier today said "fuck it, just be hyped as hell man." or something along those lines when I said I was still keeping my hype in check, after we heard that nobody knows what MS will be showing.

But posts like those from Matt are exactly why I keep my hype in check.

RAM prices for Joe blow consumers? Probably.

Do people think Microsoft, Sony and Nintendo pay anywhere even remotely close to what we pay or something?

Well, did he know about Athem? Did he hint at it prior to announcement?

Ok, I read your comment and came to the same conclusion. When I said use logic it was because you shouldn't need a Bioware employee to tell you whether or not their next big ip is exclusive to one console, the one with the least amount of owners at that.

what's your estimate for Ps4 Pro to build?
Is cheaper to build than Ps4 at launch. That's the one thing we can be certain about
according to Sony Pro is profitable from day one.
Ps4 needed a game or accessory fist and took a little longer

Xbox One and Ps4 estimates
489808

Xbox One S estimates
582322
Scorpio has 12 chips of GDDR5 ram
Ps4 was 16 chips
Ps4 Pro is 8 chips

Yea, Matt's been wrong so often before. Just like when he was wrong about Scorpios CPU. The Zen in the Scorpio is doing good work.

Oh wait.
Oh come on.

Everyone could have predicted that.

I'm just saying that if he knows stuff, he should tell us at least something so we can prove he's reliable.

If you know something, go ahead and tell us.

Too easy to be an insider like he does.
What you are actually saying is I don't have the right to post my thoughts like everyone else does. So far I have given my guess on the price, and expressed doubts about there being a bunch of new first party games. I haven't said these things are for sure. I have just given voice to what I am expecting, like literally everyone else in this thread.

I imagine if it ends up being $449 that means it was probably going to be $499 and they fought like hell to get the price down.

I'm ok with $449. It'll be golf clap level excitement. $399 will be vigorous clapping. $349 will be a 10 minute standing ovation. $499+ will be "please clap" level horribleness.

Don't feel like you need to defend yourself, its an uphill battle. Just ask other insiders who have moved on due to the witch hunt that goes on sometimes.

Why are people so god damn toxic? Do people want other users, who contribute in a great way, to stop posting here? Smh..
I mean I'd question your use of great. For better or worse, he actually never says anything concrete. Not sure how that contributes to anything.

You keep bringing that up. Dude, only a silly goofball would think the cpu was that. You had half the forum saying the same thing.

Well, he told us what will be presented at E3 now. Based on what he says he knows, there won't be first party surprises. That fits well together with what we know and have seen about the state of the Xbox 1st party strategy.

CD3
Sea of Thieves
Forza
Recore
Halo ("something small")
State of Decay 2
+ Indie exclusives (Cuphead etc)
+ 3rd party games with marketing deals (Anthem, Assassin's Creed,...)

I mean, when he says not to expect big surprises, this would be the obvious list. If they now announced Banjo 3, Conker 2, a Mistwalker RPG, and the like, then you could criticise his behaviour.

With the recent Banjo 'rumors' due to some tweets it was kinda ridiculous to see how many people still don't understand the Xbox first party strategy and limitations.some still expect big investments to see a diverse lineup like Sony or Nintendo have. But that's not a priority for Microsoft, as has become evidently clear under Spencer's leadership.

Matt is just saying and he think it's going to happen, like anyone here, nobody knows what Microsoft's going to show, not even their team, so people, chill.

people are saying if you have "insider" status you can't drop in and out a saying cryptic stuff and not following it up.

Yes, that's one prominent example. Do you want me to post a cited list or something because a couple of posters get their panties in a bunch just because Matt posts?

I don't really give two fucks in all honesty.

I also don't believe for one second the person you are referring to has much to any insider knowledge of microsoft.. I am aware of his profession before you ask

And why do you think the prices have went up for consumers....

To me it means it went up for folks like Sony, MS, Nintendo, etc. too.

Browse the web on why prices may have went up.

Nintendo already may have to deal with component shortages, price hikes for the Switch.

I said before even before prices went up seeing that ran difference in pre built PCs has been $50.

Just trying to remain realistic. Still hoping for 399.

Of course their team knows what will be shown. They've already planned and previewed the event. It's going to happen in less than 24 hours.
