Chris G, EG sponsored fighting gamer, proclaims that black women "suck at games"

You guys are just a bunch of cowards with pitch forks. Don't start acting like you're worthy of deciding who should procreate.

Is this the part where I claim how badass I am and threaten to go fight some guy who spends all day playing UMC..?

I wouldn't go so far as to say that he shouldn't be born. But I will say that he is a pathetic, worthless excuse for a human who I am ashamed to share a species with. That his pitifully undeveloped brain offends me in every way and does not give me faith that any addition he could possibly make to the gene pool would be anything but disastrous to humanity at some point down the generational tree.

But, yeah, I agree that no one is worthy of deciding who should procreate.

Example #342525 on why gamers have a shit reputation and the less unfiltered interaction with them the better.

"Hit me up for sex..."

"these are facts..."

Funny and pathetic how he worded that.

Oh well, you made the bed big fella.. time to sleep in it.

you're right. the fgc response is complete silence from TOs and his sponsor

FWIW, unless Jebailey finds some other arrangement, I'm probably going to end up streaming Marvel pools on Friday. And I'm not giving this guy a second of airtime during that if so.

If your buddy said some ignorant shit on Facebook would you call his boss and try to get him fired? Like sure Eg not saying anything is weird but it's not the other players responsibility to do anything. It got posted right after it happened on Kappa and people blew him up for it and came up with examples of strong black female players.

it's not the other players responsibility to do anything.

It actually kind of is.

The "FGC" is really just a combination of several decentralized and autonomous parts. There's no real governing body or overarching league that dictates everything. Different events and their organizers run things differently and there's all kinds of cliques involved who are all working toward the same general goals but also butting heads at times for one reason or another.

What happens at one event usually doesn't have any cascading effect on other events, and while I generally like the freedom that comes from that at times, it also lets certain shitheads get away with this kind of nonsense for too long because rarely do enough people band together to actually do something about it. Noel Brown has been a known fuck-up for years, but I don't think he ever actually received a significant punishment of any kind until the people in charge of the Capcom Pro Tour stepped in and did something about it. Hardly anyone in the scene condones this sort of behavior, but more often than not they're also likely to just shrug it off with "well what do you expect me to do about it?" or "not my problem."

I kind of think that anyone with any sort of clout ought to put up or shut up at this point. This shit is not okay and it does none of us any good to carry water for people who just drag the scene down.

This post is on point. ChrisG's "thoughts" being gross aside and the bigger problem, I also don't get why the bolded is so hard for people to understand.

Well at least the defense force hasn't resulted to "mental illness" excuses (yet).

I mean to most people Chris G isn't white because they think Hispanic is a race so he ain't gettin the "mental illness" defense. And it ain't like gamers tryna come to the defense of black women. America at large loves shitting on them every chance they get.

Just an asshole who plays fighting video games...and yet some folks are bending over to defend this guy's comments or at least explain them away by splitting hairs. This guy owes you nothing and there's nothing special about him. People in here talking about pitchforks and being cowardly...what? What's so brave about Chris G? How is he some great man that we need to put ourselves in rhetorical pretzels to defend? He's clearly making random and ignorant and gross comments about black women about fake, shitty, and "ratchet". What's to defend here?

"B...but...he plays the video games so good..."

It's okay to say that his comments are awful. No pitchfork required. Where and how can this be some sort of valid alternate viewpoint? Just call it like it is, his comments stink and are terrible.

EVO moment #38 right there.

Real talk: God the FGC sucks. Such a toxic shit environment.

There's shitty people in every community. Be real. Overwatch, Dota, CS:GO, League... you name it, assholes and bigots happen to play a wide assortment of games.

It actually kind of is.

Well said and ilu 645

Hope he gets booted from EVO for this. He's such a salty loser anyway he doesn't bring anything of value to the show.

Hurry! Take the side of the guy who just disparaged the most disparaged class of human on the planet Earth! It'll be a great look in the years to come. :)

Also that they are "ratchet" and constantly want to fuck him, I guess?

I've thought this dude was a tool for years, but this just confirms it.

FGC response: "lol chris pls" as they wait for EVO to feature this dude on streams and cheer him on.

I love fighting games and it's sad to see this kind of sentiment from a sponsored player. Hopefully some kind of action is taken against this idiot but I'm not holding my breath. eSports stay garbage.

Chris G apparently apologized, but it probably made things worse:

Lol what a fuckboy.

These are actual conversations and opinions people broadcast into the world under their own name. I still can't understand that. These kind of people truly have no shame.

Frankly I am disgusted by some of the replies here

''He should have a PR' Manager''
''Why say stupid stuff''
''He is not smart, he destroying his career''

So if he is a racist bastard, are we OK with him as long as he didn't say anything offensive in public?
Do actually equate stupidity with being flat out racism?
Do we actually care about this guys career despite being being racist?
Are we generally OK with the community having right wing apologist as long as they don't create problems?

and People actually wonder why some of non-fighting gamers are disgusted at the community that is FGC

Wow... My only real exposure to this guy was when he was a guest on CrossCounter. He didn't seem too bad (save for sadly typical pro FGC elitism), and I even felt a little sorry for him considering some ugly comments.

But welp... It's this sort of outburst that really tells you all you need to know about a person.
At least this lets me cull my "who to root for at EVO" list.

This is the real test for Evil Genius and TO organizers to show if they're ok with this or not.

This gun b gud. The coming weeks will be glorious.

A sexist/racist just got elected as a president, this cancer might be a little bit more widespread than you think.

Yeah, the shaming of gaming in hilarious, especially in the USA now. It's like people have no idea of what's happening outside of the FGC bubble.

Really disappointed to hear this. I’ve always liked Chris. Too bad he’s a verified bigot. Hopefully, swift action is taken. Lots if immaturity in these gaming sub communities.

Racists and slimeballs are in every facet of entertainment and in everyday life it's not more prevalent in anything specific.

You got assholes who harass muslim women out in the open
Black women being the occasional punching bag as usual.
You have a talking blob of orange in office.

It's everywhere and in each situation must be taken care of swiftly.

This isn't the first time this guy's come across as a total shitheel on social media. He frequently has tantrums, blowups and ignorant asshat shit splayed across his twitter page.

Yet more proof that this guy is a piece of shit.

And yet most of the FGC will most likely let this shit slide. Some people will call them out and obviously aren't cool with it, but enough people will look the other way or shrug it off that Chris G likely won't get punished for it.

Wasn't there a fighting game caster who was in a lot of hot water for sexual harassment (he made a lot of inappropriate comments to a girl on some stream or TV show) a few years ago, and just went right back on casting for EVO in later years? It's fucking bullshit.

There are some nice people in the FGC, but for the most part the whole "whatever man, it's just part of the game to act like this" mentality that pervades much of the community sickens me.

I seriously hope I'm wrong and he gets punished for being such a dickhead, though.

So who's a bigger scumbag at this point.....Chris or Triforce?

Fuck this guy. People like him get in positions of power, don't invite the object of their hate into power with them, then younger versions of this guy cite the lack of some type of person in power as proof that the person doesn't belong because we are post-racism and affirmative action or some shit. e.g. This guy wouldn't invite black women to teams/leagues/whatever, and other people would go "oh well obviously black women aren't good at games, they don't even make it into leagues".

What a gross, shitty attitude.

Not a good look for EG, they should take action and I think they might.

Unfortunately, I'm positive TOs won't do anything :/

Is he saying he won't have sex with a woman unless there is another man there to help? WTF?

Omg... this is too funny of a misunderstanding. I'm dying lmao

The fact that when I was looking for streams during the Tekken 7 launch Aris was still all over the place (and there was admiring talk of him all over the gaf OT, for that matter) says everything about how seriously this kind of bad behavior is taken by the community.

When I hear FGC folk talk about how they "don't want to be esports," I hear fear of the same kind of accountability that exists in many of the more professionally run scenes.
