like...what. I'm so hype but it was so weird.

Totally agree. I've never played the first but this felt a little (a lot?) tonally different. But, I didn't realize how messed up the world was, with the hybrid exploitation, so I guess I could see it fitting. It still felt a little gratuitous.

I've got no issue with them swearing in the game, it just felt like they were really shoving it in our faces here. Like, I could see it being a part of the monkey with the british accents character. Overall I loved the look of it, though. I'm very excited, and I guess I'm interested that they're really trying to do their own thing here, even with tone.

It is a good game, but I never understood the fanaticism some people had for it, like it's an all-time classic.

Like, no, it's not. It's just a good, solid game.

mainly because the game didn't sell well at all and people were disappointed because the game was good and there was potential in a sequel (also the game kind of ends when things start becoming interesting)
after that it became a meme
