It's inevitable folks.
When there's a mass shooting anywhere, the conversation changes based on who the shooter is, what color they are, what their country of origin is, what their religion is and what their political affiliation is. And politicians on BOTH sides use the tragedy to their political advantage.
Is it appropriate? Only to those who's agenda it supports.
Everything is politicized now and it's simply part of the everyday conversation.
Conservatives will absolutely use this to accuse liberal rhetoric for spurring Left-Wing extremists. Just as liberals used shootings by people like Dylann Roof to accuse conservative rhetoric for spurring Right-Wing extremists.
At the end of the day, it's all just finger-pointing and nothing is ever actually done legislatively to stop these incidents.

Ehh, this is not a good comparison. Dylan Roof's attack led to Democrats making a push to remove Confederate flags from state buildings in several states. While it's not introducing gun control that could have stopped it, it's the most the Democratic party could do at the time, and was still a positive step forward in preventing the radicalization of white nationalists.
