Eh. Is he intentionally insulting black people? Or just swearing out of frustration because his team mate is shit?

Obviously he shouldn't broadcast that because of his viewerbase and his position, but he ain't going around targeting it at anyone or premeditating racist attacks at people. Very poor choice of words.

What do think would be the intentions of someonr who uses the n word as an insult?

Shrug? It is what it is. I probably wouldn't even know the word, were it not for 90's rap lyrics; not anything my family or peers instilled in me in my youth insofar as racism, etc are concerned.

No. It is not what it is. I would encourage you to use this moment as an opportunity to educate yourself and better yourself as a person but I get the feeling my advice would fall on deaf ears so I'll instead limit myself to say shame on you for abetting and propagating racist rhetoric.

This stuff is so discouraging to read. Seriously.

In the age of internet there is no excuse to not know more and better.

I hear you...I'm a typical, well socially adjusted adult. It's by no means a regular term I use in typical conversation, regardless of audience. But, I do use the word on occasion. Sorry, I guess (not really)

Someone's intentions are enclosed by their actions, if you try to infer some intention beyond the action itself you're literally doing metaphysics (says Hegel, and I agree).

Our actions make our character, not the other way around.

Tell me, why do you call somebody the n word out of frustration ?

Oh, you're an adult. You're just a terrible person. That's easy! I was worried you were a kid who needed to be guided to not be terrible. Instead you're cemented in your commitment to being a horrible person. I was about to waste time.

"Socially adjusted adult" who just happens to be a racist.

👌👌👌

That's what happens when you think the real world functions as 4chan's /pol/

Who lied to you about the "well adjusted" "adult" part?

Did he have a thought process? That's the real question. Balls in his court to handle this properly.

It's your thought process that the user was asking to develop.

Specifically, in your hand-waving and downplaying of using a racially incensed word as a pejorative as no big deal.

I'm a typical, well socially adjusted adult

We'll just take your word for it...
Oh, wait, no we won't. Give me a break.

Sorry, I guess (not really)

For a well adjusted guy you certainly are adamant and unapologetic about being a old dog which can't learn new tricks.

nigger is only insulting because it's a derogatory word for black people. It's a dehumanizing term to indicate someone is less than human

if you use it as an insult to somebody regardless of their race, you're basically normalizing "you are less than an actual human being, and I'm using black people as the bar"

Shrug? It is what it is. I probably wouldn't even know the word, were it not for 90's rap lyrics; not anything my family or peers instilled in me in my youth insofar as racism, etc are concerned.

Somehow in the last 30 years or so I've never used this term, except when specifically calling out Trump supporters, Republicans or fucking teenagers on XBL. I told a story recently for example of a Republican type mechanic guy who seemed fine, he did my brakes up in my hometown. Until he started ranting about Obama saying he wasn't racist, he doesn't hate all black people, just the n****** like Obama.

I've literally never called someone the n word or the f word, ever, and I'm pushing towards 40. So age can't be blamed either.

It isn't that hard to not be a racist asshole. You call people that piss you off assholes or jerks or scruffy looking Nerf herders or whatever. Not racist/homophobic shit.

Why people use any swear word at anyone in frustration?

Because they're angry.

So things like asshole, bastard, son of a bitch, pretty general stuff we can all understand.

When someone uses the n word though in that situation, I think it says a great deal about them as a person.

Same as if he'd said "fucking jew" doesn't matter if it was done in frustration, it speaks volumes about their psyche and views.

Fucking what?

How the fuck do people say this without thinking? Like, how casually do you use the word that you slip up and say it when you know it will ruin you?

???

Because it normal for them, they accept the fucking disgusting racial discrimination and revel in it? Because they accept the normalcy of looking down and putting down poc? Because they have a very coveted private and very cultivated public persona.

It awful don't get me wrong but he has a history of this nasty shit, see his constant Nazi bs.

Why is it so hard to understand that racist, near evil, fucking nasty pieces of shits exist in life no matter how successful they get? The human race isn't nowhere near as socially evolved as we make it out to be.

A "normal" adult don't use racial slur, dipshit.

I like this sort of "Yeah, he said all this shit, but it's okay because he said it while he was drunk / in the heat of the moment / distracted" line of defense.

People who aren't down with the use of that word on a regular basis don't utilize that word even in the heat of the moment. I've never been pissed at someone and - even without thinking - called them something racist. And I'd argue that it's the same case for many others, too.

Why else would you use the word Nigger??

You admitted to being racist in two different threads. Brave or just stupid?

Going to quote myself here, because I'm now wondering why I had second thoughts about posting this.

I find it kind of amusing that you're upset about Americans getting made fun of in that hurricane shooting thread, but someone uses a racial slur and, well, maybe the audience is okay with it.

lmfao you either say 'nigger' or you're socially well adjusted

pick one

Yeah just your typical dude who calls people nigger when you get mad. Such a chill guy.

Its not fault his guys, blame those hippity hop blackety black gangster rappers!

Tell us how you really feel, you piece of shit

I'm quite aware of what he was asking. Anon thought process is irrelevant and i don't have a peer reviewed written essay on the subject. And as I said, he needs to apologise and handle it properly. You know, handled like adults and not a blind internet mob.

There is no defending this. I get mad, I don't use classless, disgusting, and horribly racist language. Would he feel comfortable saying that same thing around a family of African American people? If not, it's because he knows it is wrong and racist. If yes, then he's a blatant racist and doesn't care.

Did he have a thought process? Eh, balls in his court to handle this properly.

Why people use any swear word at anyone in frustration?

Nigger is just not any swear word. He could have said fucker, asshole, douchebag, etc but he choose one of the few words who's entire being is just to be a slur to certain people

Stop quoting. Stop replying. Just ban that poster.

Fucking appalled at the bullshit people post on this forum sometimes.

Echo chamber my ass.

You guys, you just have to have a conversation with bootsthecat, he will understand eventually why racist slurs are bad. He doesn't already because nobody even had a conversation with him about it. You aren't allowed to get mad at what he says. You have to have a conversation.

There is a tons, and I do mean a tons of swear word to use. Why do you have to say n***** ?
Unless you always use it behind the scene and this time you accidentally forgot you are streaming and said that fucking word

PDP is apparently so charming we got people coming out saying they occasionally use nigger as a pejorative in the same way he did, and that it's okay because they're socially adjusted adults and not broadcasting it.

Fuck me sideways.

You know why people use that slur? Because it's one of the most powerful in the English language. You may claim you're not a racist when you use it to disparage teammates, but you're using a word that has power because of racism and bigotry and hatred, and that makes you just as bad.

Essentially, you're using a racist term for black people to call someone else, usually a young white male, black. That turns being black into an insult that you're willing to throw around without a care in the world.

It's like using 'faggot', 'retard', 'spic', etc. You're turning someone else, another human being, into an insult. It's cruel, and it's not okay.

Disgusting.

It's not the "wear it on my sleeve" Nazis you need to worry about.

Its child groomers like this guy that tries to normalize racism for kids that are still developing so when they get older even worse rhetoric won't be obscene or appalling, it will just make sense to them.

I agree and I know I am going to get a lot of flack for this but doesn't rap music and modern internet humour normalise it. The brevity and pain of the word has been diminished. Don't get me wrong black Twitter has been great as has black American hip-pop/rap culture. However it has trivialised the word. Us woke folk who are educated on the matter understand the context and I am sure Pewdiepie should as well but imagine every second meme you look at has the 'n' word in it and when you singing along to your fav rap song the word is espoused every line...The potency of the word is lost on people.

In my 55/45 black:white school in South Africa students regardless of race would refer to eachother as n**gas because the word was never used during apartheid and therefore our generations only exposure to it was in meme culture/ rap culture. The K****r word was used in Apartheid to dehumanise black people and is still completely unacceptable to say in any context. I have never heard it uttered once, yet n***** is frequent. Black people call white people 'n' word and vica-versa. Why? Well one cannot say that rap music/ black Twitter humour has not normalised it.

That said Pewdiepie is certainly adding to the problem.
