I called it months ago. The FM excuse never made sense because the $3.99 costumes in SFV can't be bought with FM.

If it's like Street Fighter 5 expect Capcom to make a bunch of tacky fugly costumes. I've never bought any costumes in SF5 and I'm a huge costume whore in any other game.
Same here, but people defended it saying they have to make up for giving away free content elsewhere.

Joe putting in that lab work now with Ultron/Jedah, some really great use of Soul Stone. 208 hit combo. At work, so I can't clip it or anything (not that I know how) but it was from about 1106-1108 am if anyone cares to. Shit was sick.
I'm waiting for someone to use it here...

To be fair, most people paid 100$ by the time UMvC3 came. And that's not including Jill, Shuma, or costumes. So it's not that far off.

the current season pass is 6 dlc characters and 6 costumes. thats all we know.

Not to mention there are 4 pre order costumes, not 6, and 2 of them are with any version of the game. So you are now saying that you thought those 2 costumes everyone gets were part of the season pass?

$4 per costume. Please. If I'm playing that much for a single costume it either better be the best damn costume that character gets or the game should be free.
And I was actually getting midly hyped watched Max's stream last night. But it seems like no matter what, something always drags me back out, be it the roster, or the visuals, or the pricing.

Man, I don't know whether to buy this day one or not.
I'm not as big into Marvel as I am SF but fighting games are always best first week.
Then of course there's all the inevitable DLC, and I'm wondering if it'll eventually have a GOTY/Ultimate edition with all characters, or not (like SFV).
Maybe I'll buy it, play for a week, trade it in while the value is high then come back to it when all the DLC is available and on sale.

Max had over 10k viewers at one point last night... isnt that a lot more than what the pros were getting? I know Justin was at like 2.5-3k when I was watching, LiJoe was at 1k, House of Chaos less than that...

Max always destroys any other FGC streamers. Sometimes he's even one of the top streamers of any game.
Good for him. Dude puts out a ton of content for a million different games, and his videos and streams are ridiculous quality, not potato.

I doubt the costumes will even be that good. Especially on the capcom side where a lot of the returnees will just get the costumes they had in MVC3 (Stars Chris, Shirtless Nemesis, etc).

So I tried to rush my guide app into beta on the Google Play store but it got rejected for having copyrighted images from the game. I emailed Capcom support hoping they'll grant permission. It's a free app with no ads or purchases so it serves as a free advertisement for their game.
If I can't get permission I'll have to take out the graphics and it will look pretty boring :/

Max is a legit youtube/twitch star, he's gonna get more views than FGC pros. People tune in for personalities, not "skills". And Max is charismatic af.

Same here. I keep going back and forth on this game. I'm about to try and cancel my order for the PC version, cheap or not.
Charging $4 per costume is ridiculous for this game since nothing is earned for free, the massive price increase from UMvC3 costumes, the skimpy roster with the 6 DLC characters held back, and given how ugly it looks on top of everything else.
I bought everything for the last game on multiple platforms, and usually have no issues with DLC or buying costumes. This should have been an easy sell for the whole package for me.

I mean, having bought both vanilla 3 (LE) and Ultimate at launch I didn't fall too short of that price range, and this time around I'm not buying a DLC character unless I'll actually use it.
I'd have much rather bought the two new characters I actually used in Ultimate rather than have to go whole hog on a new $40 disc.
No doubt, but he's definitely not Justin/Yipes tier. My point is it's always the charismatic streamers that get the most views, not the most skilled. It's the case in speedrunning and other games I follow, too.
Also, I wonder if they'll do Ammy as DLC to launch alongside Okami HD?

Day one buyers paid 60 + 30 + 30 for Base game, S1 and S2 so it's 120. We are going to pay other 30 for upcoming S3 so we would pay 150 dollars for 34 characters in SFV which is still less than the total numbers of USFIV. Regardless with reused assets or not.
Also it's just same thing with MVC3/UMVC3/DLC.

Most definitely. I'd rather have the option of buying a character that I want. UMVC3 cost most of us ~$100.
The thing with SFV is that it's still getting characters. Such a GotY/Ultimate Edition would make sense once all of the DLC is out. Of course, there's also the rumors of a relaunch with all of the DLC up to that point included, but I'm not sure if they'd do that on an annual basis.

Agreed. Max put B.I.O.F.R.E.A.K.S on the front page of Twitch. It's definitely the personality that gets people to tune in. Not to downplay any FGC pros, of course.
