Most of their "fans" probably don't even know Cheli ever played for them, they think he's just some old guy who played for Detroit.

Uh...... I'm pretty sure we are talking about the Chelios incident before the game, not about the loss, the loss is understandable, and like I said, no excuses tonight, Detroit just didn't show up to play.

Canucks/Leafs game has the makings of a massacre.... disparity in talent, Canucks great at home, Leafs shit on the road...

Considering the way Chelios acted like a bitch and ran his mouth talking shit about the fans and team, it doesn't surprise me. Not saying it's the right thing to do though, but you can't go after the fans and expect a warm welcome when you come back.

McNabb didn't act like an asshole or demand a trade to Detroit even after being quoted as saying "I'd never play for Detroit, that's how much I hate them".

I loved Chelios when he was a 'Hawks. Wouldn't have booed him myself, but I get why people did it. I'm just glad Amonte was honored long before Chelios. :D


Moving on....

Ended up falling asleep during the first intermission like I figured. :lol

Yeah, the 'Hawks 1 power play was clearly a sign that the refs had it in for the Wings. Maybe you should look to the fact that your best defensive players (Lidstrom -3, Datsyuk -2, Zetterberg -2) let our 4th line light them up.

Yeah they did. The damn refs just kept them out of the game by calling so many penalties against them.

Basically, you can sum up the game this way. When you let Tomas fucking Kopecky score 2 goals against you, you deserve to lose.

Don't jinx it. Canucks always just scrape by a win against the Leafs. Our previous wins over the Leafs recently weren't really all that convincing to me. Last game was all because of a lucky goal by Raymond. The game before that we were down 3 goals before the Sedins finally woke up. Then even before that, we won in a shootout with Sundin.

All in all, Canucks better show up tomorrow. Score first this time for heaven's sake.
 
im gonna jinx it, but this run the preds have put together with their two top centers and starting goalie out is sick. its about time they got healthy and started losing games again

Show me again where I said anything about the refs being biased or having it in for the Wings?
The fact is only 1 penalty was called the entire game (2 if you count the delayed one Chicago scored on), and that is just silly no matter how you look at it. I don't necessarily think Chicago got away with more than Detroit, just seemed like the refs were determined to not call anything, ever.

Isn't this how most hockey fans want the game to be played?

It's either "Man, they've let stuff go all game and NOW they start calling things?" or "Man, they're calling everything!" or "Man, they're calling nothing!"

By the sounds of it, at least they were consistent. It also sounds like your team didn't show up either way and would have lost with or without PPs.

Leafs are in a rebuild, of course they're gonna suck so they can get the top pick in the draft. You guys won't be laughing when Ryan Nugent Hopkins is gonna be a point per game player on the leafs in a couple of years.
 
So the Caps and Lightning are in talks with Nabby? I don't think he'd change a thing for the way the Capitals have been playing but for Tamba Bay it might be a good idea.

Don't believe the Nabokov to Caps rumours and you're right...9 goals scored in your last 7 games shows concerns much deeper than goaltending.

I agreed that they wouldn't have won either way, but I don't think I was out of line when I said that it was bullshit that there were no calls on the Hawks. When it's something that happens very, very rarely in the sport (it's been six years since the last time it happened to the Wings), of course I'm going to say something.

I also don't believe that the refs were favoring either team, but when there's two calls on one team (Wings), usually the other team (Hawks) has to keep their hands behind their back not to get penalized. I think we all know how the officiating in this sport usually works.

Looks like Nashville is on fire lately. NJ just scored, but they're 2 periods too late. Your team looks scary, Sef. And now you're only going to be a point away.

or if you are going to have him up let him make his mistakes play him in diffrent situations(penalty killing , 3rd period minutes etc..) its not like we are going to make the playoffs anyways. Right now he is so tentative and slow, just zapped out all the confidence he had last year.

to be fair, it wasn't just him...but the fact that he's the fill in for the next 2 months makes his mistakes magnified.

lets see how they respond now that they know they can't lean on pronger.

In fact, I distinctly remember Wings fans (and most likely Pringles in particular) losing their shit earlier this season because too many penalties were being called and the refs wouldn't just let them play. It didn't matter that they were being consistent.

And yes, the Wings happened to be losing.

Yep, and a guy like Wilson will just ruin him. Send the kid down, let him build some confidence and call him up after the trade deadline.
